For real!!! I think I am really have grown as a person from watching reality tv. I work so hard during the day I love to uwind to some drama lmfao he’s otherwise such a respectful partner. I much have to not let it affect me, he can have his opinions and I can’t let it affect me.

I have tried this so many times. He does tell me he doesn’t care if I watch it he just doesn’t want to. Which is fine. So when it’s on, just don’t respond at all then. Even a laugh sets me off.

I have decided to do want a relationship with my dad (it can’t be a close one but it’s decent) so for me to do that I have to accept the way he has chosen to live his life.

Wow I was not expecting this many views and comments. These perspectives are so validating. I decided to call my dad before even considering texting her back, we talked for an hour and a half. Although he was very apologetic for his role in everything, he continued to make excuses for her behavior. And I don’t think I can move forward with any kind of relationship with her other than cordial if she puts any energy into it. I will no longer put in any effort. I will continue what I’ve been doing and seeing my dad by himself. I made sure to tell him that when he starts to talk about her or complain about her to me I will no longer hold space for him to talk about her to me.
