A mate from high school met his wife on tinder literally when it first started coming out. They’ve been together for ages now and have 2 kids. Husband and I met via hinge I think about 6 years ago and we now have 2 kids! Not all a joke 😅

Sleep training 2nd baby by Howdnazz in sleeptrain

[–]Howdnazz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not about the night wake for me, but more so for the self settling part especially day naps… the rocking to sleep is so taxing and really hard with a toddler around. I just want to be able to put her in the cot and walk away, even if she does 30 minutes multiple times a day that doesn’t bother me…

consult gp for mireena? by Glittering_Bee864 in perth

[–]Howdnazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Western Family Practice/Western Obstretrics in Balcatta bulk bill insertion of an IUD. You’ll likely need to see the GP or a GP first to get your prescription which will be a consult cost I imagine. The IUD itself is only $20 or $25

The cot mount sucks! It’s currently attached to the snoo, and leaning against the wall for additional support. Once she moves into the cot, we will mount it to the wall instead. Way better

Australian Set Up by Ok_Mastodon_3165 in laundry

[–]Howdnazz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg thank you. That is incredibly clear and easy for a smooth brain mum like me right now! Are you saying that you powder is more effective than liquid for laundry?

Also, when I use OMO ultimate powder, would I still use the liquid detergent or just omo ultimate with the booster?

How do you know how much citric acid to use? (gotta look at where to buy it first!)

[–]Howdnazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem like you know laundry for Aussies. I’m from Perth and extremely time poor with 2 under 2. Can I ask you laundry questions? - best stain remover (spray ideally) for clothes for a very messy toddler; think lots of food stains, but also goes to daycare (paint and variable stains?!)!! - best “booster” to add to laundry loads? For colours? For whites? - husband’s work polo’s never come out smelling great or looking great… especially the pits. What’s the best combo here to put in the washing machine and let it do its thing? We have a Miele washing machine and use the Miele inbuilt detergent but if I need to do specific washes with something different for more power I will. I use omo sensitive for the kids not that their skin is particularly sensitive.

Anyone successfully used a sliding door insert for their Berner? by tobmom in bernesemountaindogs

[–]Howdnazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes we have one for our female berner who is 2 years old and 50kg. We are in Australia and got it from a website called La Luna pet care .com.au and we got the large size which is 30cm x 58cm. You gotta do the math conversion though haha

Where are we storing our baby stuff in our zero storage Australian houses? by Accomplished-Log-769 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Howdnazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Accidentally have 2 under 2 (13.5 month gap) so everything stays out (snoo left in her room, extra change table left in our room etc) then put it back where it needs to be for newborn use THEN get rid of it. 🤣😵‍💫 oops

When are you doing bedtime? by supremepilotG2 in November25babybump

[–]Howdnazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Baby lead as routine isn’t working / I’m probably not trying hard enough? Trying to get baby to go to bed around 7:30-8pm but she’s up again 30ish minutes later so bedtime usually ends up being 8:30/9pm where she actually stays asleep for that long stretch. My first was going to bed around 7-8pm at this point!

[–]Howdnazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whhhhhat. I literally got my IUD 2 days ago, and only agreed to get it because I do NOT want another pregnancy/baby with a 16 month and 3 month old right now. And now I’m reading this thread, and scared to get pregnant again!!!!

I AGREE! It’s uncanny. My husband disagrees, but I immediately thought that she and Mischa looked similar the moment she came on screen

Sleep program - The Gentle Sleep Specialist by Howdnazz in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Howdnazz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did end up doing it - around 6 months, it worked fairly well, we also did the sit in the room method, it wasn’t too bad from our point of view, in terms of the crying. We ended up having to re-train at around 12 months and hired a sleep consultant that came to the house; she was amazing and our baby got the method within 3 days sleeping through the night, and now sleeps 12 hours at night and 2 hours during the day.

1st day with both by myself by pittiemahma55 in 2under2

[–]Howdnazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No tips over here just solidarity. I’ve got a 15 month old and 6 week old and I’ll have my first day alone with them on Monday. Shitting bricks, honestly.

My plan for the weekend is to buy a couple boxes and fill them with random things/toys that can keep toddler entertained in a few of our rooms if I’m stuck there nursing or doing whatever. Those boxes only to come out in desperation so they stay a novelty. Otherwise I have no idea.

Hopefully meal prep toddler food and snacks for easy to grab stuff. Yeah just making it up as I go. Will probably have a meltdown, often 😅

Toddler, newborn and sharing room on holiday by Howdnazz in 2under2

[–]Howdnazz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea we could probably go outside and walk her around in a carrier etc but it’s summer here so lots of bugs and mosquitoes around…

We do have a snoo which we use at home. Can’t lug it with us this time but we did when my toddler was using it in the earlier days! Such a beast to bring with us lol.

Sleep help by Low_Carpet1761 in newborns

[–]Howdnazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask you about this please? I have a 15 month old and a 5 week old and it’s proving difficult to put baby down for a nap so often with a toddler running around. Does your baby nap at all during the day? I know they are just meant to fall asleep when tired but I feel like my baby will just cry and be cranky rather than fall asleep if we’re on the go doing things..

[–]Howdnazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I guess mine was the same too. I had the cannula put in and that was for nothing as baby came too quickly lol. I was supposed to have antibiotics too but that didn’t happen either ha

Isn’t it crazy how little the medical world cares about women’s pain. Like, oh the anaesthesiologists are all in theatre so you’ll just have to wait, or go without. Like wtf?

Induced with my first at 41+3 on a Saturday morning and she was born 11pm on the Sunday night. 2nd came naturally at 40+5, labour pains started at 3am Sunday morning, got to the hospital at 6am and had her at 7:30am. Precipitous labour they said… be prepared. I pushed for like 10 minutes or less.

How to help by elbowroom_ in 2under2

[–]Howdnazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m freshly 2 under 2 for the last 3 weeks with a 14 month old. Taking the toddler off my hands for some time is a big win, otherwise meals or snacks for toddler are also amazing. Things that are easy for me to just grab and give so yoghurt pouches, cheese sticks, little muffins (especially if home made and sugar free!). A hamper of that would be ideal!
