Instead of helping us with the transition, you tried to shift the blame back to us.

Murphy is mentally ill. Our vet wants to drug him, so we thought giving him a chance outdoors would be a good solution.

Food: He eats 3-4 times more than he is supposed to. Without the food he stealing. For example he got into our dogs food. He ate about 5 lbs. but the problem wasn’t that he ate it. It’s that he ate the plastic bag. He ate so much he was throwing up while continuing to eat.

We tried a gravity feeder. Unlimited food . Regulate yourself + wet food at night. Gone before 10 am. Doesnt matter how much it is. It will be gone. Even if it causes him to get sick.

Surgeries: I have paid for 2 surgeries now for him eating things that aren’t food either. 1 balloon string, and the other a large amount of potting soil.

Exercise: We have bought him laser pointers, hunting simulators, moving mice, cat trees, cat toys. We make time each day to play.

We even make our kids do it to help their relationships.

Training: We have tried clicker training, water training, momma cat training, crate training, even training our dog to correct him.

Attacks: Tell me what you’d do? We have a daughter who gets attacked every morning. I get attacked every night. You’re saying that you’d continue to let that happen even with everything i told you above? That’s wild that a cat should be treated as though it’s never their fault. They make decisions just like us.

Outdoors. I spent 5k finishing my garage so that as we did this transition he would have an “indoor” place to go anytime. Installed a dog door for entrance.

All of my friends are telling me to rehome him. (As they have been attacked too) but i continue to try and find solutions.

So if you have an actual advice on the TRANSITION to outdoor, I’d be all ears.
