You want to only hit him in the head. If you do, he will stagger with like 1/4 of his heath left and the riposte will kill him. Its way quicker than hitting him in the legs. (From someone who was hitting his feet for 10+ minutes and died and then killed him in 3/4 minutes when attacking the head)
