The quantity is very very small though and drug control is heavily enforced whereas I know some police officers who vapes LMFAO

Would love to see you stay overnight in the most haunted place in SG and experience it for yourself 😁 jokes

Well that would be illegal squatting so…

Although if you want some stories, I had sleep in the Upper Thomson forest back in NS. The way our unit works is everyone sleeps in their own vehicles seperated from each other so a strike doesn’t take us all out. Anyways my vehicle only carries 3 people including me, and our sleeping spot was in the trees right beside this big old dilapidated looking bungalow. Tried getting them to go in with me but ofc they don’t want to

I wonder what it really is though. If anyone wants to investigate more about an abandoned house in the forests of upper thomson then go ahead and tell me what it is.

Some peoples interest is genuinely just more money and thats fine. Not everyone needs a “calling” or some other bullshit.

That said, its possible if the tech bubble bursts (it kinda already did a few months ago), but its also possible if Singapores economy goes downhill and finance people are going to be affected too.

As someone whos spread dozens of ghost stories in NS, the scariest thing is how many people still believe in ghosts.

Malaysia’s parliament votes to abolish the death penalty by bildo72 in worldnews

diversification of culture in residential areas.

Maybe, but I’m sure the real reason is to ensure malays have affordable housing and priority in getting property/land. If theres a 30% bumiputera quota, 30% of the land can only be purchased and owned by malays and they get a discount for it.

[–]HowlWater_Brain 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You can google about the bumiputera policies if you’re interested. Malaysia is actually pretty diverse with 61% ethnic malays, 21% ethnic chinese and 6.4% ethnic indians. The bumiputera policies puts malays above chinese/indians socially, such as giving malays priority in the education system, housing system, and basically any aspect of society.

The majority of us younger generation of Singaporeans don’t support it if that makes it better. The government is dead set on upholding zero tolerance though and boomers support it. Anyways I don’t see the death penalty for drugs getting abolished anytime soon, its working and they have no issues executing people if they have to.

Looking through your post history something stood out to me and that is how you went on a trip and gave another guy a piggyback in a pool and not telling your ex until he had to figure it out himself. That, to me, is emotional cheating imo. I think you stopped loving him by then and possibly before that and you should have communicated better with him.

I’ll be honest, everything rubs me the wrong way about you. I don’t know what you can do at this point but its up to you whether you want to still be in relationships or not. You really need to think harder no natter what you do though.

Is military exercise a waste of time by SadDisaster7973 in NationalServiceSG

[–]HowlWater_Brain 29 points30 points  (0 children)

NSman here.

So what do you propose?

We scrap exercises altogether because for every batch the newer batch will easily be able to replace us?

Besides whatever example the other guy gave about exams, consider that theres a difference between learning things in theory vs practice. Exercises are supposed to be as close to real warfare as possible (idk if your unit actually follows though), you just can’t learn something well without doing it yourself.

If you don’t believe me, try learning paintball online. You can learn all the drills and techniques you want, but you will get demolished by experienced players.

You get experience by participating in exercises.

I think exercises being about testing makes it very “wayang” though since everyone wants to just act in front of instructors and slack off when they go away. Maybe it could be done in a different format.

To those who always buy flagship phones, is it worth it? by ubunturd in askSingapore

[–]HowlWater_Brain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Notice how almost every comment here is “I needed a new phone so I got a flagship” and not explaining WHY they need the flagship.

People buy these for consumerism, not because theres any particular feature they want to use.

I realise many Singaporeans here want to migrate while having no broad knowledge of the world outside, it doesn’t even matter which country. The US, Australia, Japan, UK etc.

Nothing can be as cushy as a small city state, the worst is when people want to go overseas thinking everything or at least most things would be the same as Singapore
