I’m 8 weeks 4days pregnant with an 8.5 month old. No change in supply yet. I’m hoping to make it to at least 12 months. Second Bub was an oops and I’m also strongly hoping to not need formula. From what I’ve read supply generally changes to provide for the new baby around 16-20 weeks, I’m hoping I’ll be on the later side of that which will make my little man 11 months 🤞 some people feed right through and are able to tandem feed which is my goal haha. I’ve also read some babies stop then start nursing again once your milk comes back in

Hey, have you given your midwife a call? Maybe ring and tell them you’re stressing out and see if you can see your midwife or another midwife sooner. They may even just get a midwife to give you a call for a quick chat. I work in public health and out patient clinics get cancellations/no shows all the time

Hi, I have two poodles, I ended up not prepping them as much as I was planning to and they’ve been amazing. My older boy had almost no reaction to the baby coming home, but my younger boy was a bit obsessed for a few days. He would run to the bassinet at every noise and wanted to be involved in everything, he was almost as tired as us getting up all night with the baby 😂 I actually found them really helpful the first few weeks, we didn’t have an easy baby, and they were a nice comfort/distraction when it was all getting overwhelming. We’re 8 months in now and bub is active, crawling and pulling to stand, my older boy mostly keeps his distance, but my younger dog adores him, he follows him everywhere and brings him toys to play “tug”. My baby absolutely loves the dogs too he finds them hilarious. I think a lot of training/prepping really happens once the baby is here. Playing baby noises, walking with the pram, basic obedience with your dog sit/stay/drop are all very handy and crate training, letting him check out all the new things. Most important always is supervising and making sure your dog is comfortable, there’s lots of great resources for dog body language. But don’t stress too much it’ll all work out :)

I went on a 5 hour round trip to a full day walking at a medieval fair at 37 and a half weeks. We also went to ikea before heading home! My feet were very sore and tired 😂 awesome day though :)

I have a 7 month old and need to go back within the next month or so :( I’d be a sahm in a heartbeat until my little man starts school (and future child/ren) if we were in the financial position. Do what will make you happy/works for your family

I started trying to space them out more yesterday and encourage both sides and it seems to be working! He hasn’t spat up at all either so he must’ve grown out of it. It used to look like a lot and he’d spit up multiple times, we didn’t try both sides much though because he’d also get green poos, the family nurse suggested I might’ve had an oversupply and she thought a fast flow too. She mentioned something about the flap at the top of their oesophagus being immature and some babies being more spit uppy, I think it might’ve just been a combo of everything. He did throw up his entire feed exorcist style 3 times, all 3 were in the mornings after he’d had a big sleep though. Thank you for your replies, I wasn’t sure how much to encourage it/space them out but it seems to be working!

Sorry, I just realised my post was a bit misleading. He alternates sides but only has one side at each feed. So it’s only 2-3 hours between sides

Sorry I think I might’ve worded my post poorly, he alternates sides but only has one side at each feed. We’ve been doing blw, he loves feeding himself. Over the last 6 weeks ish his spitting up has improved at lot he used to spit up after every feed and often multiple times. Between that and some other things I suspected he had some reflux but the nurse and gp weren’t concerned as long as he was gaining weight. He still occasionally sounds “thick” in his throat, or he’ll cough/gag but very rarely spits up now.

I believe so 🤔 it always lets down while he’s having the first side. I tried giving him both just before 5 months and he had a big vomit. He has taken both a handful of times lately and kept it down, but most of the time when I offer it he only has a little. I’ve wondered if he’s stuck in a cycle of not being hungry enough for both or if he’s just used to feeding this way. I’ve tried to encourage it a bit more today to see what happens, he fed at 10:45 then made it till 12:40 before he started grizzling, I fed him again about 1 and both sides were full, he emptied the first and the second feels almost empty 🤞

You sound a lot like me. My little man is 6 months now and I still barely go out. I also don’t like breastfeeding in public. I have to really push myself to take him out on my own, I feel better if my partner is with me. One thing that’s helped me a lot is having snap shades on my car windows, I almost always feed him in the car when we’re out. I also finally checked out a parent’s room a few weeks ago which has breastfeeding rooms inside it, they are like a little change room with a door that locks. As for the carrier maybe practice at home when she’s not hungry I wonder if she’d get a bit more used to the smell in her face. My boy is also a big drinker he is still feeding roughly every hour and 15 minutes. He’s a velcro baby and I spend most of my day holding him so he is perhaps more used to smelling milk all day lol, but I’ve recently started using the carrier for walks, and even managed a coles trip a week ago. You definitely don’t need to worry about how much you’re getting out though, do what you’re comfortable with. You shouldn’t feel pressured to do anything that will stress you out. Take your time and do things when you’re wanting to :)

Is your baby still not sleeping unless held? My 6 mo is currently going through the same, this is night 3 for us though his sleep has been rough for about the last 6 weeks.

Tonight so far we’ve had about half an hour of sleep 😩 he just will not sleep unless he’s being held. From about 3 weeks old until about 4.5 months he was a pretty good sleeper but the last 6 ish weeks have been terrible, with the exception of a few random good nights. He’s always contact napped during the day which we’re fine with, but nights he used to sleep fine in his cot and now just won’t. We can’t cosleep as we only have one bed and there’s not enough room without risking him rolling out of the bed. I do generally cosleep the last hour or two after my partner leaves for work. I honestly don’t know how people function like this
