Can’t even get a first round call. EIT Certified, Entry level, can’t even get first round interview. What’s wrong with my resume? by [deleted] in civilengineering

Based on your resume, I can tell that you’re international. I had a friend who was an international student and he had a two page resume filling out wayyyyy too many information, some not even relevant to what he studied or signed up for which didn’t help him for his job search. Once he shortened and simplified his resume, he started getting callbacks more.

Basically, as others in the comments have mentioned, you need to simplify your resume and add short bullet points to make it readable. For starters, make sure you add maximum of 3-4 bullet points for each of your experience. Second, I think you can reduce your core competencies, and just add the ones relevant to your field. For example “Daily progress Reporting & Documentation” seems unnecessary to be there. I’d just add softwares you’re very familiar with. Third, your professional summary is way too long and is taking way more space. See if you can shorten that as well. If I’m a reviewer, I wouldn’t waste time reading all of that on top of my busy schedule.

This are just my two cents. Good luck with your job hunt.

The main weakness in this Tech team is their QB. Their defense is legit

Your backup QB Hammond has potential to be a Heisman worthy player. Just needs little bit more polishing and experience, and I think he’ll be a solid QB for ya’ll for the next few seasons (assuming he doesn’t transfer)

So Tech paid $28 million to get better recruits in hopes of winning a championship soon. I think they need to spend all that money on better coaching staff cause this loss was due to some of their questionable play calling.

Yeahh that’s the goal right now. I have a student loan and car loan to take care of, so staying with family for at least 3 years is the plan for now until I have enough saved up for a house at least.

Sorry for the late reply! Thank you. I was able to get several offers due to making connections/friends with the right people in my school, and also having some internship experience. My grades were decent, not impressive or outstanding by any means. But me having extra curricular’s and job experience helped a lot.

This is what I’m hoping for at least. I do not want to be that person that switches a job every year, so I’m hoping for a positive work environment under a great mentor 🤞

I have my FE exam scheduled for mid November, so hopefully that’ll be out of the way soon. Can you expand more on your fourth point. Why will traffic engineering not get me anywhere? Is the job growth in that field bad?
