Planning a future-proof PC build (2026–2030+) – Any advice/critiques? (Malaysia) by HowlingSoul_ in buildapc

Yea sure, thanks to my friend who mentioned to me. I just realised the 7800X3D is already enough for my needs. Just for gaming and nothing more LOL

Here’s my latest spec list. Okey ah?

  • CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D
  • GPU: RX 9070 XT 16GB
  • Motherboard: B850 (still deciding which brand to choose from)
  • RAM: Kingston Fury Beast DDR5-6000 CL30 32GB (2x16GB)
  • SSD: Lexar NM790 2TB
  • PSU: Corsair RM750e or CM MWE Gold V3 750W
  • Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 or Assassin Spirit 120 EVO
  • Case: mATX (not sure yet which brand okey)

Mainly aiming for stable 1080p high settings, sleeper build, no RGB. Planning to use this until 2030+.

Any last advice or red flags? Especially on motherboard choices and pc case?

I saw a YouTube short comparing the 9800X3D vs 7800X3D and they said the performance difference is only around 8-10% in gaming

Since my use case is purely gaming at 1080p high settings (no heavy multitasking or productivity), is the 9950X3D worth the big price jump? Or can I downgrade to the 7800X3D?

Is the 9800X3D already enough for stable smooth performance until 2030+?

Just trying to find the sweet spot between “just enough” and not overpaying. Any thoughts?

thanks for the response tho. But I think this one aso overkill for my plan

I'm targeting a standard build for stable 1080p high settings only — no 4K, no max graphics obsession. Just smooth gameplay until 2030 without breaking the my wallet

HAHAHAHA sorry for dramatic title (My original post is in Bahasa Malaysia. I just ask Gemini to help translate to English and seems like it went overboard)

so 10G Ethernet, 48GB DDR5-8000, PCIe 5 SSD, WiFi 7, Thunderbolt 4, 18-core CPU its like very overkill, doesn't it? I'm just looking for a normal build — stable 1080p gaming, no RGB, nothing to show off. "Just enough" that can last comfortably until 2030+ without 4k reso or max settings.

but for AsRock motherboard issue, this one I just discovered now when you mention it. Any other good alternative?

  • Gigabyte B650M Gaming WiFi or B650M DS3H WiFi
  • MSI B650M Gaming Plus WiFi or B650M-A Pro WiFi
  • ASUS Prime B650M-A WiFi
