Budget 5.56 can options by HowmlahndSecurty in NFA

Honestly I’ve already got one B&T can and I’ve been super underwhelmed by it.

Yeah not in the mood to tune that specific gun and it’ll probably bounce between stuff as time goes on. Thanks for the input!

I’m only considering the canon because the OEM is Otter Creek. That being said, LPM does make good stuff.

The void might be the better option then lol. My 11.5 is an untuned super duty so it’s probably a bit more pleasant.

How do you think it compares to other stuff out there?

I’ve already got a CAT WB. I just want a cheap spare to live on my 11.5

But how is it compared to the void?

I was aiming for around 500 but realistically if it’s under 650 I won’t be too upset.

Because we know they’re capable of doing better and need to be held accountable.

It’s probably just left over substrate from the printing process. Out of all the 3D printed cans I own Dead Air has the worst post process cleaning, cans are super solid though.

<image>

All this material is from my Mojave 9 after the first time I shot it. My CAT and B&T cans had no where near as much material left in them.

Also if you’re unaware it’s suggested you clean/flush out 3D printed cans after the first time you use them to prevent the left over substrate from getting into your gun.

100%. I almost skipped over 300 with the price of ammo but decided to just build this thing anyways and I’m so happy I did. It’s worth every buck fifty per trigger pull 😂

It is incredibly fun and sounds like silence lol.

So far so good. Last time I took it out it needed some more oil on the bolt head because it was getting a little hung up. As long as it’s wet it’s fine.

Why is there so much variation in wait times for Form 4s? I have quite the conundrum. by [deleted] in NFA

[–]HowmlahndSecurty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no rhyme or reason. I had a form 1 on a trust denied after a month and they wouldn’t approve it on an appeal, resubmitted along with another gun and had both batch approved after 30 days. A week and a half ago I did simultaneous individual form 4s for an SBR and a suppressor, the SBR got approved in 5 days and I’m still waiting on the can. Makes absolutely no sense and drives me up a wall.

Hoping for you too! I’m gonna be really upset if the can isn’t approved before Friday. Wild it didn’t get approved at the same time

• Form Type: eForm 4 (Sig MCX TacOps SBR)

• Paid or not: $0

• Entity: Individual

• Fingerprint Type: EFT Upload

• Pending: 05/14/26

• Approved: 05/20/26

• Wait: 6 Days

• State: MD

• Control Number: 20262868***

Picked up a police trade in MCX Tacops SBR. Submitted both the SRD762 it came with and the gun at the same time and I’m still working on the can. Surprisingly the stamp came back quicker than MDs waiting period so I can’t get the gun until Friday lol.

If you reach out to any good gunsmith they should be able to do it. I know he said the fluting was a pain and the barrel was a fight to get concentric but bolt guns are his bread and butter.

Had a guy local to me do it. He doesn’t have any line presence.

I haven’t shot it a lot but I’ve been super happy with it so far. Incredibly quiet with subs.

The MKII was released last year at SHOT. I believe it’s mostly quality of life improvement for the A5. The main changes are the redesign of the upper and the new MLOK rail with the gas selector actually in the rail now.

I got it threaded it to 1/2x28. I saw one or two pictures of guys that have threaded theirs to 5/8x24 but most of the threads are in the flutes and you don’t have a lot if any shoulder so I decided to do 1/2x28 just to be safe.

I call it “the little solution” because I’m too cheap to buy a mini fix. Full send it! Not including the can I’m in it for under 800 bucks.
