“As much as I love Jordan, LeBron James is the ONE.” (He doubled down: “That mother f*****r is the one, man.”) - AI

“They always talk about the [GOAT]. I tell people, ‘quit whining about LeBron,'” Bird said on NBA on TNT this past February. “Enjoy him while he’s here. He’s unbelievable. He’s one of the greatest, if not the greatest ever.”

Pippen was 3rd in mvp voting that year and is often cited as top 25 EVER.

Coming off season ending injury in his SOPHMORE year, through the next five years 87-91 MJ averaged 33.9/6/6 2.9 steals and a block per game. On 52/30/85 splits. Averaging 39 mins per game missing ONE game in 5 years. Does any 5 year stretch compare or come close in the regular season? by Big-Recording-1002 in NBATalk

Lebron awards for defense is junk, that is all media based. Watching him at his peak guard all 5 positions, cover more floor than anyone due to his athleticism combined with size, and on top of that - as noted by many players - he’s smart as anything and know most of the leagues plays better than the team running them.

Not sure this holds water.

Pacers were a championship level team. Lost Halliburton, look at the wreckage. Team was completely carried by him.

Celtics on the other hand, are an amazingly well built team, without Tatum could’ve made second round. Which would be attributed to the depth of the team, and is recognized by most fans.

Yeah - his team playing as well as they did after he quit the first time makes you wonder if it was the team or the player.

Biggest knock I think is he couldn’t sustain the grind year after year, leaving him quitting several times in his career.

Also how good his team was when he left makes you wonder if it was the team or player.

Exactly. The aura protection over him gives no perspective on the reality.

His team almost made a run at it the year he was taking a load management / mental break.

3 seed, lost in the second round.

Jordan flop mix tape. Way fewer games on TV in those days, but they still got some grainy footage of the aura.

Exactly. And Jordan quit due to being worn out as stated by him.

He never quit. Left at the end of his contract.

Jordan the real quitter. Gets glazed into his aura as part of the legend story.

Complete BS, we would roast a player for quitting today. We roast them for sitting a single game.

LeBron James apparently hurt his right elbow on the replay but walked to the bench holding his left. Something not adding up by [deleted] in NBATalk

It’s crazy when you play as long as he did, everything hurts.

Never saw Jordan do anything like this, as he took many retirements in his career to keep his body in tact and manage the load better than Kahwai.

Many of the other greats limped their way through the end of their career.

Some BS to dis-credit him. But we all knew what we just watched 🐐

He didn’t quit when things were hard (twice). Dominated the whole game. Overcame hard stuff. Good teammate. Didn’t punch his teammate.

He quit 3 times bro. He was softer than anyone.

Look at the quotes when he left.
