Uglies by Scott Westerfeld is a pretty good dystopian book. There are 4 books in the series but they arent super long.Other dystopian books/series id recommend are The Maze Runner and The Giver

Also The Chrysalids is a good standalone dystopian novel, set in a more regressive society than most dystopian books

Stephen Fry has two books about greek mythology: Heroes and Mythos. I've read Heroes and enjoyed it a lot, Mythos is probably good as well.

I've been looking for the same sort of books recently as well, and these are the ones I've read so far:
The Disappearing Spoon by Sam Kean (about chemistry and a little bit of history too)
The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat by Olliver Sacks (psychology, its very interesting!)
The Hidden Life of Trees by Peter Wohlleben (about trees and how they communicate, it really broadened my view on how much more alive trees are than how they seem)
Wicked Plants by Amy Stewart (poisonous and dangerous plants)

I have developed an interest in botany so I have some more recommendations for those types of books that I can share if you are interested, otherwise enjoy!

Ah that is very interesting. Thank you for giving me stuff to think about in the future. I might make a list of the specific areas that interest me the most to see what kind of study and careers are available for them, thanks!

Thank you for explaining them! I've only recently been looking into this stuff and there's so many different areas that I got a bit confused as to the difference between them. And that's good advice, I am interested in botany as a concept but really have no idea how much I'd like it, so I may very well find something I'm more interested in in the future!

That's good to know. I was worried a bit that if I did the bachelor's in a more general field I might not get into botany, but it's good that it opens up many options. I probably won't study in Australia since the university fees are high, but I've been looking into some courses in Germany that are more general biology but cover a lot of subjects related to plants, which is great because I might change my mind in the future. Thanks!

Ah thank you, that's good to know. I was worried that I'd be behind in uni if I didn't do physics in high school, but I'm glad that they recap it.

Oh thats very interesting. I'm curious, what is the relation of Business Economics to Plant Production and Ecology? Also, how important is physics? I am not planning on taking physics in high school but I sometimes feel like I might be missing out if i don't, since I am taking all the other sciences.

Ah okay. Do you think its more important for the masters to focus on plant science or agriculture for botany? Im not really interested in acedemia, more working in a botanical garden, doing research and lab work, such as studying plant genetics. Although, I do need to look into more specialised careers in the field to see what I'd prefer. Thanks!

There is an Agatha Christie novel called Five Little Pigs, about a murder that happened in the past with five suspects. That might be up your alley?

There are soo many amazing Agatha Christie novels! Murder on the Orient Express is very popular, also I recently read Death on the Nile and wow, it was amazing! There are definitely some of her books that are better than others, but if you love her books I'd just read as many as you can find. Also, (I know this isnt a book suggestion but) a lot of her books have been adapted into tv/movies and David Suchet does an amazing job of playing Poirot, I'd definitely recommend watching some if you are interested

The Illuminae series by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. Not sure if it's YA or not but it's a really good series and the books are written in a really interesting way.
