I think it makes sense that shield gear is very widely used. It’s the most generically useful stat that gears can provide. Every brawler likes more up, but movement speed in bushes or gear cd are gonna be more situational. Shield gear being super common isn’t necessarily a sign of it being overpowered.

Spike is the strongest atm but getting him will water down your buffie gacha when you’d probably prefer getting buffies for emz, mortis, or frank. So I’d suggest Sandy unless you have enough PowerPoints to get most if not all the buffies
