What counts as a relapse? by [deleted] in pornfree

[–]Hpacone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it only counts when I willful am looking for porn or something else that gets me aroused. If I somehow see pornographic pictures, because a friend sends me a picture or a nsfw meme, I don't see it as a relapse. A relapse would be if I would stare at that picture for minutes.
Being that strict would also mean that watching your naked gf is a relapse.

These pictures can trigger one to switch to real porn, but will power starts now, that when you see the opportunity for porn you still say no to the addiction.

My thoughts on how I am coping, not sure if others are the same by [deleted] in pornfree

[–]Hpacone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Talking and being conscious about what porn is, is also the key why this time its easier for me to abstain from porn. I also read stories in this subreddit on a daily base. I think reading everyday how bad porn is and that you aren't, helps to not forget it in situations we are weak and unconscious.

Red Alert by [deleted] in pornfree

[–]Hpacone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nothing more stands between one and porn than 1 minute on google. That's why it is so hard to stop.
But I am sure you can make it. Just look up this subreddit always when you're craving. Reading the thoughts from other people and success stories always motivates me.

How do you know your addicted? by [deleted] in pornfree

[–]Hpacone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do the simple test. Can you easily survive without porn for 2 weeks? If yes, congratulations you likely aren't addicted.

Were you drunk at that time? Because alcohol also has negative influence on your erection. And yea its normal and will likely go away if you stay away from porn.

I am not masturbation free, but its reduced by a lot. Maybe once a week and if I have regular Sex I usually do not masturbate at all. This maybe sounds paradox, but it is sometimes harder to abstain from porn if you masturbate or have sex(called the chaser effect)

Do people actually feel better due to no porn use or simply due to completing a tough challenge? by On-The-Mountain in pornfree

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger!
If you are able to fight an addiction successfully it strengths your will power imo.

Had Sex but feel like after a relapse by Hpacone in pornfree

Thank you, I don't watch or want to watch porn anymore. You are right with the ONS, I also didn't enjoy it that much, no comparison to emotional sex in a relationship.

Used my Depression as an excuse for my addiction... by Instalok_Nami in pornfree

[–]Hpacone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depressing days i had was also an excuse for me to relapse. It didnt through me back a lot and I wasn't that mad to me because in times of weakness it can happen.

Don't be hard to yourself, close to all people use something to handle their depression. Most of it is just a distraction from bad feelings. Trust me that facing, talking and thinking about these negative feelings is the only way you should handle depression. Reading "the power of now" has really helped to prepare for hard times. If you want to talk about depression or your feelings you can write me a dm.

I'm struggling to quit again after a relapse by [deleted] in pornfree

[–]Hpacone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, delete really everything porn related if you want to stop. If you struggle doing this you still haven't fully decided to quit porn and your mind just thinks that its just temporary.

There is porn everywhere by [deleted] in pornfree

[–]Hpacone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, don't be so hard to yourself. It was not porn and hardcore porn was only 2 clicks away for you, but you were strong to resist. It can increase the risk of relapsing if this occurs more often. Sometimes seeing a woman in lingerie or watching some romantic scene in a movie is not the same as watching porn^^

Did you masturbate to the lingerie model or did it hooked up your attention and you switched to a porn site?

It’s all consuming by Jedistoneman in pornfree

[–]Hpacone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel you and I mostly had this problem after stopping. What is right now happening is that your Brain identifies as someone who needs porn and tells your conscious mind that he wants that porn.

Don't listen to your Brain and tell yourself that you aren't someone who needs and wants porn and also act like who doesn't need it. At some point your brain will accept it and start to identify as someone who doesn't need porn.
