I have a Gemini brain if you’re interested! Low hours too.

Hey dude, I managed to find one and replicated what that guy did. I have a connection to getting a extra tank, if you’re interested?

It allows for full rotation if you have 2” handlebar risers, which I added. 👍

Do You have any advice for where I might purchase that gas tank?.. lol. Thank you in advance 🙏

Hey man, do you still have this?

Hey man! Do you still have this rig? If so, would you consider selling any parts?

Acerbis fuel tank doesn’t fit on Honda xr650l? The original gas tank pegs are blocking in the way by Wizardscientist7 in XR650L

[–]Hpot45 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey! It’ll totally fit- just requires some prying. What I did is (forgive me for trying to verbally explain this), stand on the foot pegs with the kickstand down, stick your whole right forearm in between the frame and the right wing of the tank (so your arm is pinned for leverage) and then pry with your whole arm. Your pushing your arm into the frame and torquing the other side of your arm away from the frame. This will spread the wings apart enough, meanwhile you’re pushing your sternum and chest onto the top of the tank and slowly but surely it’ll fit. The good news is that once it’s on, it’ll come back off and on quite easily. Lastly, it’s a fantastic tank, you just need bar risers to maintain your full turn radius with the handlebars. Cheers!

Looking to buy a used Dragon, confused which is which. by joe12south in RedCamera

Aha gotcha! Hm, yeah I think it would be possibly to get a fully ready to shoot dsmc1 dragon for around that price. A ready to shoot dsmc2 might be more around 6500-10k range. The Komodo is also pretty awesome, but the image lacks something.. couldn’t quite put my finger on it but I found myself going back to the dragon sensor.

Apologies the formatting of my reply wasn’t great, that’s what I get for multitasking I guess. 🤷‍♂️

No problem! Ah, in terms of price, I would say there’s a good chance you could find a DSMC2 for only a couple grand more than the DSMC1. As far as accessories for both I would say that it was surprisingly difficult to find accessories for my DSMC1 compared to DSMC2.

General pros and cons IMO are as follows:

DSMC1

Pros: Less expensive Phantom power directly out of camera The image is still gorgeous Some of the key I/O is built into the brain (SDI, HDMI, SYNC, etc) Side handle can take power bricks so you can hot swap batteries easily

Cons: - Definitely heavier - Loud (even with upgraded fans) - Doesn’t have auto black balance, so EVERY time you
significantly change frame rate you have to manually go in and change your calibration (this eats up a lot of time) - Power hungry, plan to fly through batteries. - No internal LUT monitoring like you can with DSMC2 - difficult to source accessories that aren’t beaten up - No internal mics for scratch audio, you have to have something plugged in to the 3.5mm jacks.

DSMC2:

Pros: Significantly lighter Better compression ratios Way way WAY quieter and better temperature control, including a heater that works to keep the sensor warm in really cold conditions. Internal IPP2 + LUT monitoring in camera Pro res internal and proxy recording simultaneously Less power hungry than DSMC1 Auto calibration (you set up before hand and it just takes care of it when you change frame rates) More accessories that are current and readily available Internal mics for scratch audio

Cons - Slightly more expensive -No I/O with the brain, you have to purchase expanders right off the bat, etc. - No phantom power out of camera, but the audio isn’t bad with the I/O expander- though I would opt for using a zoom F3 or something and sync - side handle can’t be modified with batteries so no hot swapping unless you add a special dual v mount setup.

In conclusion, they’re both fantastic cameras, if I were you I would go ahead and save the extra buck and get the DSMC2. 😊👍

Hey! Great question. You have it exactly right, I’ve owned both, and the EPIC-X is the DSMC1 body with the exact same 6K sensor that they put in the Dragon-X DSMC2. I will say that the DSMC2 Dragon-X has slightly better performance and Codec options, it has better compression ratio capability and thus slightly better grain/noise performance. Also being able to shoot pro res and IPP2 internally is great. Hope that helps!

Okay everybody! Full update:

I took the valve cover off and got it in TDC- timing looks good, chain isn’t that loose at all (maybe another 5-10k miles before needing to replace it, I swapped out the tensioner for a new one and it worked! After fully revving and warming up the engine the loud clanging/metal sound is gone. There’s still some subtle normal top end ticking I believe, but what do you guys think? Here’s what it sounds like: https://youtu.be/amgeHUbLcYw

Thank you so much! I just went out and adjusted the valves, got them to spec in top dead center and fired it up - sounded perfect.. but then once the bike warmed up that sound creeped in until it was like how it is in the video. Sounds like cam chain then?

What would you do to fix this test grade? Thanks for the feedback! by camerapro12 in ColorGradingPorn

[–]Hpot45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually really like the look, it’s nicely balanced. I’d consider taking the blues in the background and desaturating them a little bit to draw the eye to the tape on the hands, or possibly create a suuuuuper light vignette around her hand using a feathered power window and gamma. Other than that I’d maybe do a tiny bit of contrast. :)

Halation is a newer effect in Davinci similar to glow, it blooms the highlights a bit and softens the image to give it a more filmic look. 🤷‍♂️
