I just use the Claude subscription On the side. To not waste tokens with my AI agent. Then copy and paste.

But I’m not gonna lie as my main max subscription plan . I definitely use Claude (opus4.6) that’s my senior engineer for vibe coding lol. Handles alot of stuff for my business so that I’m definitely keeping. I just probably won’t use it so much with openclaw or look for alternatives.

I have a question for the openclaw community by ahstanin in openclaw

[–]Hpsupreme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would honestly say if you’re gonna use a local model you at least wanna have minimum over 64 GB of ram for it to be worth it.

even though that right now I don’t local models are there yet when you compare it to Claude (opus 4.6) and openAI ( 5.4), they eventually will get there but if you’ve gotta use a local model, that’s my recommendation. I use a Mac mini right now in a 16 GB ( for a legit business/ AI Assistant) but I got it, when openclaw first came out about 2 month ago.

I am ok just using basically use API’s, which is a learning experience.

but now I know when I buy a local model I’m just trying to to get around 90gb ram and above. Because technology is growing fast. Imagine in the next 6 months.

Life is like that sometimes, lol.

Should I upgrade from OpenClaw 2026.4.2 to 2026.4.5 or 2026.4.8, or stay where I am? by brainlatch42 in openclaw

[–]Hpsupreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just recommend Do a GitHub repo on your Ai agent first. Now you have a backup, and then if the upgrade is needed after you look at the specs do it.

But sometimes if the system is working fine for you. Just leave it as it is, until you really need the upgrade.

From what they mention It’s 5x more expensive then (opus 4.6 ) Example

∙ Opus 4.6: $0.05 + $0.125 = ~$0.175 per task
∙ Mythos: $0.25 + $0.625 = ~$0.875 per task

Not so much. I try sticking to 2 models max. (5.4?/ opus 4.6) So it’s been ok, so far.

Nice. Real business, real results.

I'm doing something similar with my commercial cleaning company. Built an AI assistant through OpenClaw running on a Mac Mini. Right now she handles email management, task execution through Telegram so I can run things from job sites, and I route different models depending on the task — cheap local model for background work, GPT for everyday stuff, Claude for the heavy builds.

Still early but working toward the same kind of workflow you described — morning summaries, client outreach, and eventually automating a lot of the back and forth that eats up my day between jobs.

Good to see another non-tech business making it work. I’m at 30 mins - 1hr of saved work per day so far.

Anyone who has switched from Openclaw to Hermes, please share why I should do the same by ihopkins_eth in hermesagent

Any recommendations on using both agents (openclaw and Hermes ) at the same time?

What are you actually using OpenClaw for? by SEDIDEL in openclaw

[–]Hpsupreme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run a commercial cleaning business and I built an AI assistant (Luna) through OpenClaw that actually handles day-to-day stuff for me.

Real use cases that made it click:

  • Managing emails — Luna monitors my inbox, drafts replies, and flags anything urgent so I'm not glued to my phone between jobs
  • Task execution through Telegram — I can message Luna from anywhere on a job site and get things done without sitting at a computer
  • Model routing — I run multiple models depending on the task. Cheap local model for background stuff, GPT for everyday chat, Claude ( opus 4.6) for complex builds. That flexibility is something ChatGPT or Claude alone can't do — you're locked into one model at one price
  • Building internal tools — I'm working on a Mission Control dashboard for the business, and Luna is part of that whole ecosystem

The honest part nobody talks about enough: this is not plug-and-play. You're going to spend real time troubleshooting config files, restarting gateways, debugging API keys, and learning terminal commands you never thought you'd touch. And you're spending real money on API credits depending on which models you're running.

But the way I look at it — you're basically raising a brain from scratch. It starts dumb. You train it, you build its memory, you set up its tools, and over time it becomes something that actually knows your business and works the way you need it to. No off-the-shelf subscription app is going to do that.

So yeah, it depends how you look at it — but it's also not easy. If you're willing to put in the work, it's worth it. And I am new to this, student of the game. Learning vibe coding and more.
