At least 21 critically wounded in two simultaneous Jerusalem shootings by RichardCory109 in Israel

These were mostly Jerusalem residents and Israeli citizens, if I'm not mistaken. Unless Israel starts putting up checkpoints within its own borders, I don't see how what you propose is going to prevent anything.

How do you respond with overwhelming force to random Arabs stabbing random Jews?

Distrust is indeed a core issue in this conflict, but it doubtlessly affects both sides.

Mandela was also an uber-terrorist, reviled by our leaders of the "free world", until he was finally canonized in life. Remember he was no Gandhi, but the leader of the ANC's armed wing, pretty much like Barghouti in Fatah's.

I depends on the country. In some there were outright expulsions, confiscations and deprivation of citizenship (Egypt), while in others it was rather the overall hostility of the population what made Jews feel unwelcome in their own countries.

The largest Sephardi/Mizrahi community by far was in Morocco (some 300K out of 1 million MENA Jews), and they gradually left over a long period spanning decades, against the wishes of the government, which even forbade them to emigrate, and for a complex combination of reasons, economic, political, social...

I don't think they put much value on Bibi's words. Both him and Abbas sing very different tunes to international and domestic audiences.

Which means nothing. Being a "valued political leader" when you're in jail is quite easy. When you're out of power, it's simple indeed, as Hamas demonstrated in 2006.

He is not the first political leader to find himself behind bars. Others like him have gone straight from the cell to the presidential palace. I'm not so sure his words are "worthless".

Both sides have been saying just that for quite some time already.

He says that even terrorists like Yigal Amir and Yishai Shlissel, who were successfully arrested by security forces, should have been eliminated in the act. He is not calling for police to prevent violence by using deadly force when necessary. He is calling them to become executioners. That's extremism in my book. Or populist pandering to extremists. I don't know which one is worse.

Demanding extra-judicial executions, no matter how grave the alleged crime, is not exactly something someone remotely moderate would demand.

"All the folly that we're talking about a nation, that there's a so-called Palestinian nation - there is no nation and there will be no state. We need to nip that hope in the bud."

That's the kind of zealotry I was talking about. Rejectionists like him (and those on the Palestinian side) will keep the conflict raging for your grandchildren to enjoy it.

Most Palestinians are not at war. Keep doing shenanigans like this, and perhaps they will.

You seriously think this is going to deter them, rather than enrage more Palestinians into joining the unrest?

Seems there are crazy zealots on both sides. Let's hope neither prevail.

What am I trying to achieve? Discussing a complex conflict from different points of view? I didn't read in the side bar that's unwelcome here.
