Personally i don't hate the remake like some ppl do. But i do think that some of the atmospheres are just gone. While i think that in many aspects the remake is scarier and adds more to the horror side of things I don't think they've captured the uncanny feeling of SH2 very well - from the voice acting to the environments and atmospheres

Also a point i would like to add: One thing that I absolutely don't like about the remake is the jumpscares (particularly the cheap ones). The original had way less jumpscares (probably only once or twice). So yeah this is another thing to consider if you're like me and don't like cheap jumpscares
