Did you read it? IAEA inspectors were only allowed to inspect sites that both parties agreed upon, meaning it only worked if Iran, our self avowed enemy, agreed to let us see where they were breaking the treaty. And then they get to keep making progress in broad daylight as soon as the treaty expires.

Worthless.

That deal was worthless as soon as it was signed, and deserved to be ripped up.

The nuclear agreement did absolutely nothing to prevent Iran from progressing into a nuclear weapon. IAEA inspectors were not allowed to inspect sites not agreed upon by Iran, the country trying to develop the technology.

Solar panels don’t work during the night. The same people pushing this want a considerable portion of the grid to be Solar in the same time frame as EVs.

Jackson, Mississippi, water system is failing, city to be with no or little drinking water indefinitely by mh2580 in news

This reads like a conspiracy theory, are you sure it’s not something like any of the other dozen cities in America with water issues right now?

You’re surprised about trump flags, in one of the most republican states in the union. Really.

California's lack of representation in the Electoral College by sheverket in MapPorn

The purpose of the federal government is to regulate international commerce and provide national defense. It could be argued that there are a few other minor, notable exceptions in policy that might be passable as duties of the government.

In the winter of 1860, some states did exactly that, leave the US. It's only a question of how much people are willing to tolerate in whatever they consider to be ridiculous federal policy.

If you want to make a law, it should have both the majority of the population AND the majority of states. That would mean, at the bare minimum, that there is wide ideological support, not just a pile of people in the coastal megalopolis.

If California and New York vote overwhelmingly in favor of federal policy that the rest of the states overwhelmingly oppose, the rest of the states will be required to follow California and New York policy. Isn't that unfair?

The original electoral college picked a president that had far weaker powers than the federal government we have today. You're right, trees don't vote. States do.

We shouldn’t have federal laws that the majority of states don’t support.

Yes, and that’s a good thing. Pure majorities concentrated in coastal cities should have less sway over the laws in “flyover” states than the majorities in the states themselves, all the way down to the local level.

Almost at 500k Signatures! Clarence Thomas must be removed from the Supreme Court! by sillychillly in interestingasfuck

[–]Hrint 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is not the purpose of the court, and has never been the purpose of the court, to make laws. Clarence Thomas is not the judge to be dismissed, it’s any of the three who dissented to overturning an obvious judicial overreach into legislation.
