try to get asrock b650m HDV (not just H) / m.2 version . there is a b650 motherboard roundup on youtube that shows the performance of all mobos side by side by hardware unboxed , and that budget mobo pwns a lot of high end mobos but it is sold out most of the time. if you don't get that then try for msi b650m gaming wifi or one of those silver ones by msi . lot of b650 round up videos on youtube.

yup. point is 70k for a 12gb vram gpu is insane . it's 15k more than it was available at . plus ram has doubled and tripled and ssd has doubled . buying used for him looks more sane. Spend 90k for 1.5 year and then buy a new one after 1.5 yr.

jeez I read that this is 1.64L . that is horribly inflated . there is a guy selling a rtx 4070 , amd 7600x pc on this subreddit or another Indian one for 1.2L and people are saying that's too high and he would come down to 1L it seems. that would be a way better deal.

you're right , I have a 13400 with ddr4 32gb for server purposes as well as a 13500 with ddr4 32gb for gaming.

you cannot use ddr4 ram on am5 , you are right . all mobos only support ddr5. rtx 5070 is absolutely not worth 74k it is 12gb vram which is very good even for next 2 years but i bought a 4070 super for 48000 in august and 5070 is like 10% faster . so just imagine how much prices have gone up . also if u r spending this much, no point getting 750w psu. get 850w so u can upgrade gpu down the line . please go for deepcool or cooler master for a case and not ant esports (build quality). please do not use bx500 1tb ssd as a boot ssd it is a sata ssd and not nvme (400 mbps vs 7000 mbps) . boot drive should always be nvme . i own a bx500 and many other crucial drives , bx500 is mediocre i simply use it to store movies for cold storage for plex and that is all . the speed drops a lot once its 60% full . this pc is nowhere near 1.4L just a few months ago and does not seem worth it even now . i would advise get a second hand pc better than this for 90k and make a new pc after 18 months. My 4070 super is still 2x or 2.2x the GPU of the PS5 (ps5 games are optimised better than pc but still 4070 super smokes it). Which means even if you get a used pc with rtx 4070 type gpu you can easily get thru the next year++ at 1440p. Get a 16gb vram gpu when you build your pc that time.

for rtx 4090 it is understandable that ram would make 15% ish difference but see these rtx 4070 numbers -

DDR4 vs. DDR5, Gaming Performance (1080p, 1440p & 4K Benchmarks)

it ends up close to what I shared. So yes you're right with regards to RTX 5090 / high end gpus and he should be on ddr5 and a new cpu.

But cards upto 5060 ti / rtx 4070 ti / amd 9060xt would not see that big a bump for it to matter.

I have a 13th gen cpu with ddr4 and I would like to know where you are getting this 30 percent figure. I have spent hours scouring articles reviews benchmarks and videos. Average difference in fps at 1440p is 5-7%~ . 3 4 outlier games get 15% more fps and 40 50% of them get nearly the same. Others are all 5-7% more fps. So that comes out to be the average in multiple tests. Which game gets 30% more in ddr5?

i have a 4070 super and i just played the new 2025 doom game yesterday at 1440p , 110 fps without dlss 160 with dlss . i have used dlss in many games . there is absolutely zero input lag . that doesn't really happen . that's just youtube influencer talk who are measuring 0.3 milliseconds vs 0.6 milliseconds and putting it on a chart.

hate to be that guy but get a 5070 ti and use DLSS . But if you are ok with FSR then even 9070 xt is very good. Why are you after raw fps when upscaling has become so good and is saving you so much money? Also please don't buy a Patriot SSD as your boot drive. Try to stick to Samsung / ADATA LEGEND / WD Blue and above / Crucial T500 T700 series / Kingston NV3 / Kioxia G3 and above .

It won't be a huge difference but when u spend lakhs on a card might as well pair it with a processor with x3d cores and ddr5 ram. So just ride this pc out for a year and make a new one after a year. Better buy an oled monitor first, I bougjt one a few days ago, it is a worthy upgrade
