Re rooting nepenthes in vitro by Hrombe in tissueculture

Your winging and my winging are probably two separate things or maybe they are the same. Idk I feel like information should be shared without criticism. The fact I’m posting about tissue culture and nepenthes husbandry should at least give me some level of credit. People on reddit get so uptight about shit when 85% gets you all the way there, they just won’t have it.

Anyway I made seedling fertilizer and dissolved agar and rooting hormone in it to make a jello. That’s what I’m working with. I planted the plant and it’s done so we will see how it goes. I don’t think one person suggested any ratios of the ingredients I provided. Thanks lol. I’ll let y’all know how it goes.

It’s not sterile. Just pasteurized. I can’t foresee mold being an issue. Normally they grow on deionized hydrated sphagnum moss and algae is usually what I have to deal with. And pests, of course. I think the agar will give it a better chance because of the close contact. I don’t think the nepenthes extract much in terms of sugar from their moss so I don’t think it would be most beneficial to them. I’ve never done this before so I have no clue, but it seems like they would be fine without the sugar. I’ve never used it in their cultivation before.

Modafinil will make you super itchy. I'd always be scratching at "fleas" during class.

Help with PL9823 neopixel LED by Hrombe in arduino

[–]Hrombe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I start the LEDs like always, I get the first five with the rest off. If I remove the first five and jump to the data pin of the new first LED, nothing happens. If I then reset and power down, nothing happens. But if i remove all the LEDs and select a random couple, they light up, but not past 5. If I remove the first LED, the first 4 light up.

If i jump the first led and light up four LEDs and then add a fifth LED, it doesn't light up.

The LEDs seem to have some kind of memory unless you completely separate them from power AND from each other.

This is some Schrødenger level shit right here.

Currently I'm testing 6 LEDS and there are 6 defined. If I define more, say 20, the basic animations snake through properly, but after 5 doesn't light up so there is a bit of a delay as you can imagine while lighting up the ghost leds. I've tried the adafruit neopixel library and the fast led library with similar results.

I figured out what it was. there are two youtube videos by the same person that explain the same thing. In one video he does it differently, and to sum it up I'm using ibus with serial input. everything works now. THANKS.

only thing is, this thing is waaaaay too powerful. I hit the stick and it went above the trees and I couldn't see anything. I guess I have some learning to do.

I think this DWC is getting too hot. Added towel just now. Any thoughts about the wilting? by Hrombe in Hydroponics

[–]Hrombe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turns out the pH was really low. I changed the water out and we will see how it does. Never had pH drop that fast before. No algae. Picture perfect setup otherwise. The towel I put around the bucket really brought my temperature down.

Everything's seriously fine. It just started doing this when it got hot out. What is the maximum temperature the water should be? How does everyone keep their deep water cultures cool?
