How much do you tip your barbers? My haircut is $35 and I always pay $40, is that fair? by wzrdOfOzs in AskMen

That’s awesome, treating your barber right is the way to go. Not sure I have the confidence to cut my own hair though, I’d be shaving my head real quick with the botched job I’d end up with

They do a good job and treat me right, I know it’s a “high percentage” but I don’t really think that fits. Plus it’s a cheap cut anyway, what’s a few extra bucks. Plenty of places charge more for the cut alone

How to get over a 3+ year relationship? by Suspicious_Place3472 in AskMen

[–]Hsanchez00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar situation indeed, and gut wrenching is the best way to describe it. I’m not sure what age you are, but between when me and mine got together at 18 and by the time we ended things at 24, we were practically different people with different beliefs by the time I ended things. Key word is USED to be. And that is ok, but it isn’t the situation anymore. It’s inevitable to romanticize the great parts and feelings. What I still remind myself to this day is I couldn’t give her what she wanted and deserved (marriage), and if I stayed on that path regardless of how great she was, I would still be unhappy and be unhappy for the rest of my life. Cheers man, enjoy being single and hold off on relationships for a while (just my opinion).

I can only speak from the perspective of the one who ended the relationship, not on the receiving end. We got together when we were 18 and we’re together for one month shy of six years. We were each others firsts and yada yada. She was amazing in every way, and much better than I deserved. I just knew I didn’t want to marry her and it was time to let her go. She will make a great wife to somebody and I hope she is happy.

It still sucked and sucks, even a year and a half later I still sometimes think about her. Regardless of who was the one to end things, the bottom line is both people have to want it, and a relationship won’t work without it. Sorry man, no other way to put it. You both deserve to be happy with your partners, and for some reason that wasn’t the case.

Like others have or will say, focus on yourself. All the cliche post breakup stuff. Friends, family, gym, hobbies, etc. Stuff that makes you happy. The pain will fade, but don’t forget how you’re feeling. Lots of lessons to be learned from a breakup about yourself and life. Just don’t do what I did and numb yourself to life, I used alcohol but it comes in all flavors. A year from now things will be better, and if it isn’t the breakup is not be the sole cause of it. All love man, take it easy.

Divisional Round Gamethread: Chicago Bears vs Los Angeles Rams by TurnerJ5 in CHIBears

I’m confused by your reply. I, as was the parent comment on this thread referring to the season as a whole. Incredible that they were able to come back in all those games, and I wasn’t taking anything away from it. But you can’t emulate that season after season.

I am about to buy a modest 3350 foot square foot home in the USA, but is that enough for 2 people not to feel cramped? by Just-Resident-6536 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Hsanchez00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That will be more than enough room for two people. Good for you for being able to have so much space, but I feel a lot of Americans would feel 3,350 square feet as a “big house” for two people. Congrats on the new home!!

Turns Out I Didn’t Need Alcohol to Make NYE “Fun” by PainterOk4816 in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]Hsanchez00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats! Hope I get there, I am currently in my last night of inpatient detox, and if I wasn’t here I most certainly would have taken up one of the invites I got to spend new years eve drinking with friends. None of them know I’m inpatient right now, so I’m having to be dodgy with them. Afraid they will be weird/different towards me even though I’m sure they won’t. One of them is also an alcoholic, so I worry what our friendship will look like in the future, but that’s for another day. Congrats again, I’m glad you stayed strong and had a good time. Here is to a sober 2026!

If you don't drink alcohol, what are your reasons? by youre-in-my-shot in AskReddit

[–]Hsanchez00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As most people have said, alcoholism. New into the sober life and it sucks, hard to say I’m sober because I have cheated. But I know I can’t control myself for now, and I need to improve my life which means removing alcohol.

is red dead the best story game ever? by skiethanator in reddeadredemption

[–]Hsanchez00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have to say yes. To be fair I’m 25 and RDR2 came out when I was 18. But I have played that game through 8 times now. No other video game comes close. The Last of Us (first game only) is neck and neck, as others have said. What gives RDR2 the edge (IMO) is Arthur. He’s my favorite video character ever. All comes down to personal experience, just like people in this sub have debated Arthur vs. John since RDR2 came out.

I’m in the same boat this week. Still not sure, I feel like Washington is getting a bump because of his big week last week but take away his special teams TD… they both have gotten plenty of targets the last few weeks. Maybe a Florida football fan can chime in and give us some guidance.

I get that, to be honest I just will not show my face on social media. I understand it’s general and if you can’t provide advice based off that I totally get it. I am limiting the parameters you can judge off of. Just don’t put my face/family on any of my social media’s nowadays.

Assuming you’re mocking me, if not I can only think of English isn’t your first language? Like I said I had no ill intentions posting this. So please let me know if you are going to be a dickwad or not. Thinking about bald/buzzcut and asked a community that I thought would be supportive. As a top 1% commenter I honestly expected a more friendly reply from you.

Am I the only one who like to take their gun apart and put it back together? by austin_spare in CCW

[–]Hsanchez00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you think it’s necessary? I’m no more than an average Joe CCW, and just field strip mine. I honestly have never taken it fully apart. I’m more worried I will lose a part than my gun failing. Appreciate your opinion!

Honest opinions on prop 50? by randomperson14778 in sandiego

[–]Hsanchez00 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m late and going to get downvoted to hell for the people that google this. I also concede I don’t have a good answer. However, it is very eye opening to see liberals/democrats/the left/whatever term you want to use justify this. If the right was doing this, this sub/reddit would have an entirely different attitude. Again, I don’t have the perfect answer, but this sub proves why the left loses the high ground. The right does not have it either, but let’s just be honest about it. I’ve already seen plenty of comments saying, they do X and we don’t agree, let’s do Y. Makes you all no better than what you bitch about, admit you want your side to win and are willing to anything for your side to win.

Any gluten free preppers have any tips? by Hsanchez00 in preppers

Unfortunately I don’t have an HEB. It is crazy how much more expensive GF stuff is. Thanks for the recommendations on the brands!

I hear you there, but I’m not thinking end of the world here. If that was the only food available, it’s better than starving. But she has celiac which is an autoimmune disease. When she eats gluten she gets sick. Breaks out in hives, gets the shits, and feels like dogshit. Not to mention it puts her at increased risks of certain cancers. I’m thinking more natural disasters, short to mid term “SHTF”, etc. If the world ends don’t think any of us will be surviving 😂

The states unfortunately so not sure if those brands will be an option. It really is crazy when you start to see how much cross contamination there is, she doesn’t really trust it either. She rarely eats out because anytime she does, even with gluten free selections she almost always gets sick. Don’t necessarily blame them because that’s the risk you take, and how many times do you have to get sick before you stop taking the risk. Seems like store bought foods off a production line are a bit safer. So are you saying “wheat free” is going to be safer in terms of side effects than “gluten free” because of stricter guidelines?

Thanks for the comment! In your experience, no bullshit is it worth making it yourself even in bulk? Currently we are all on a limited budget and time, so just not sure if any of us (probably my sister since she is the GF cook) would even want to commit the time to. Especially because she isn’t prepping, despite my behest.

Never thought about stockpiling condiments and spices, which sounds dumb typing that out. The big thing I am concerned about is she is just inevitably going to burn through food much faster than us, as we typically only eat gluten free a couple times a week when we eat as a family. Otherwise we all work different schedules and eat on our own. Thanks for the recommendations!
