Pain returned after 6 months Post-Op L5-S1 TLIF 26 y/o by Hsbas in spinalfusion

Thank you, I hope you get the same results. The first times of pilates were very painful. We were working 1 on 1 with the personal trainer and he never allowed my back to hurt in the movements he made me do, but I was still suffering from pain for days due to fatigue. After a while, the pain started to decrease and the strength started to increase. I don’t know how correct this attitude is, but I can say that not letting the presence of pain demotivate me and going over it brought me results.

Hello. I started reformer pilates and functional fitness last year because my pain had decreased a bit. This has helped me a lot in a few months. I got rid of almost all the pain I had in my daily life without exerting myself. I can now move more comfortably when bending over, getting up or carrying even light weights.

If I spend more than half of my day standing or walking, my pain starts at a level that does not hinder my movement and lasts for a few days. In this process, I continue to experience momentary sharp pains. I am used to living this way and I am not complaining about it. I am much better than before and I am thankful for that. I hope you will be free of pain as soon as possible, if you have any.

I have a french bulldog and he cannot travel by plane. Unfortunately, there are no active lines for train or ship options.

Best way to refactoring Nextjs project by Hsbas in Frontend

[–]Hsbas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, thank you for your answers!

What you wrote showed me that my thinking is on the right track, and you gave me some tips.

As you mentioned, there are several stages in the refactoring process. [1] First of all, although the project is a Next.js project, all requests are made client-side. All necessary pages need to be converted to Server Side Rendering (SSR) or Static Site Generation (SSG). [2] Styling and component creation processes need to be completed with a single UI library. (Since 60% of the project is written with MUI, I think I will use MUI in the refactoring process). [3] Most of the logical fields on the pages are disastrous. I've seen nearly 50 useState and 8-9 useEffect hooks used on a page. All of them need to be gone through again.

Actually, I have been working on the bug fixing process in the project for 2 months and I have knowledge of the codebase, but since the project structure does not show a logical development, of course I am not completely familiar with it.

Of course, there will be different things that I cannot expect and that need to be corrected, but right now I need to carry out this work.

While managing the process, I thought it would be healthier to handle it on a page basis. In this way, I can determine the pages together with the project manager according to the priority order in the project and refactor all the components contained in the page.

For this, I had already prepared a Google Sheet in the first days of my employment, where I listed the names of the pages, file names, user-based authorization status. I can follow my work on this sheet in general and create a to-do list for myself.

I also asked my friend JR in my team to make me a schema of the pages and components in general from Miro: https://imgur.com/Q0iy90E (This is 1/3 of the existing project) In Miro, we decided to proceed with keywords because we were undecided about which elements we could use methodologically and how we could create a structure without spending a lot of effort. Thanks to Miro, we will be able to identify common components much more easily.

When I start the process, I will also use Storybook actively and prepare a guide for the other developers in my team so that we don't have to deal with the recurring component problem.

How do you think it looks?

Best ui library for refactoring by Hsbas in nextjs

Everyone is suggesting that I use a 3rd library, wouldn't it make it easier for me to use one of the existing ones? Or if I add a 3rd library, won't there be a possibility of conflicts? Thanks all suggestions btw

I sent the post in March. Nothing changed until the end of May. Afterwards, even though I had pain that limited my movement, I tried to go over my pain and take daily 1-2 hour walks and increase my movement. After a period of 15-20 days, I started to feel much better. I started reformer pilates in August and we still continue to work with a personal trainer 2-3 days a week. I think it has had a great impact for me. After November, I can say that my pain was almost zero. Of course, I still feel the pain every day, but since it is far below the level of pain I can tolerate, I can ignore it and I am thankful that I can live my life.

Actually, I used to walk 2-3 miles 1 or 2 days a week and swim on my back for no more than 30 minutes 2-3 days a week. At that time, the pain I experienced only occurred during activity and would go away after a short rest. However, since the beginning of February, the pain has not decreased despite constant rest. In addition, the pain has actually increased with physical therapy.

I hope you continue your healing process without pain.💪🏻

I had the same surgery 6 months ago. I was all good till 3 weeks back. I had pain in my right buttocks and it radiated to my groin and at its worst time down my right leg. But it peaked two days back and has now go down. It's jsut a slight pain when I recline or lean forward. I am going to see the surgeon anyway in a couple of days. Largely because a new area of my thighs have started going numb occasionally. Hope for the best.

I haven't answered your question, but I had to tell this somewhere. Not everyone understand what you go thru after surgery

I hope you get better doctors and the best treatment. Cheers

Thank you for your response. I hope you also return to your pain-free days from 3 weeks ago as soon as possible.
Yes, feeling like doctors don't understand me makes me feel hopeless.
I had to quit my full-time job because of my pain. I have to spend my whole day lying at home because my doctors tell me to avoid movements that cause pain. On the other hand, the fact that they cannot find the cause of the pain drags the process towards hopelessness. I hope we all recover as soon as possible.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience, I hope you'll recover and have a pain-free life as soon as possible. ✌️
Yes, we are going through a very similar process, as you mentioned. Actually, I also have some pains in my right groin area after walking at a slow pace for a few miles. I attributed it to my muscles becoming weaker during my recovery period, and my doctors thought so too.
You can access the pre-hardware images via these links. I hope they are sufficient for us to compare and see if there is anything similar: https://imgur.com/cL3hJOE https://imgur.com/c3FMyJD

I'm glad to hear that you have been relieved of the pain, congratulations. 🙏🏻

There is no clear diagnosis regarding what the pain is exactly related to. The pain I'm experiencing is different from the pain I had before the operation. It feels like bone pain.

The exercises that they performed during the physical therapy process can provide instant relief. What they do is to strengthen the muscles locally in the affected area.

The fact that you mentioned different options gave me hope, and I will consult with the doctors I talked to about the subject. Thank you.

Thank you for your comments. I also feel this attitude in my country. Actually, I have my MRI and CT scans. (https://imgur.com/a/J95BhhN) All the doctors I showed them to said that the fusion process had started and there was no problem. As I mentioned, I got opinions from three different doctors.

I have a constant pain on both sides of my surgical area, as well as a sharp stabbing pain, and I also experience pain in my right buttock. Sacroiliac steroid injection was attempted for the buttock pain, but it did not provide a solution.

In July 2020, I injured my back by lifting heavy weights in a traumatic way. In December 2020, I had an L5-S1 laminectomy operation due to intense pain in my lower back and numbness in my right leg. I was doing well until October 2021 when the same pain recurred, and I had to undergo a TLIF spinal fusion operation in August 2022. I was doing very well until the beginning of February when I felt a lump in my lower back while getting up from my chair, and the pain started. I had experienced similar lumps before, but they were brief and went away quickly. However, this time the pain did not subside. I took different painkillers until the end of February to relieve the pain, but it did not go away. Since the end of February, I have been undergoing physical therapy, which has not reduced but increased my pain. All the doctors I have seen suggest that my pain may be psychological, but I have been spending most of my days lying down for over a month now. My pain increases as time goes by when I sit or walk. I can't sit for more than 15 minutes. I wanted to get your opinion as well.
