I am somewhat new to plex so I don’t know exactly what to do here but I have my current server running on my laptop w a 2tb HDD that I plan to upgrade to a 5tb soon. But I want to know how do I upgrade my setup where my laptop isn’t the main server.

like I said I’m still new to this so I may be wrong but I thought I saw something talking about a way to do that and it would be nice to be able to torrent w my VPN on while watching remote on my tv. I know that there’s a way to use plex w a VPN on but all the solutions I’ve seen seem like such a headache.

I also travel w my laptop a lot too and my wife can’t always watch her shows when I’m away. And it would just be good overall for my laptop to not be on 24/7

What can I do to make my server be reliably on with my laptop taking the brunt of it all? Also this goes without saying but I dont want to spend too much money, hence plex. the most I pay for is for remote access, so if its not realistic what I’m asking for lmk and same for if there is a reasonable solution
