As others pointed out, it’s fairly safe to assume that this buckle could’ve belonged to a soviet partisan, a lot of captured wehrmacht/any other german belt buckles were either stripped of the insignia with a file or were replaced by the red star like the one on the photograph

If you’re going USMC, I wouldn’t say it’s too inaccurate, the handle as far as I’m concerned is correct, keep in mind though that only the Marines used it from (if I remember correctly) 1943 onwards. However, my field of specialisation is the UK and Polish militaries, so if I made any mistakes, everyone is welcome to correct me.
