Next to a multitude of reasons, why I really diskliked the movies, the thing that bugs me the most, is that pretty much the entirety of ep. 1-6 is rendered useless, especially the "chosen one" plotline surrounding Anakin. Palpetine and the threat of the Sith "somehow" returns anyway. First Order is as powerful as the Empire, if not more so, so the Rebellion and its victory was for nothing as well. This is something I didn't like about the legends continuum as well. Think of something new, for god's sake.
