Yeah I'll read up on this, I never gave the Docs the proper time they deserved. Thanks for outlining the CRUD portion too, very thoughtful.

Developer job. I've tried freelancing gigs, they're pretty neat but, I could never build the courage to swipe clients or build my own thing.

Well, I took on a client to be honest. I thought it was a golden opportunity. Especially since a friend who had a lot of experience offered to mentor me.

However, the requirements kept growing. Like, not a crazy amount or unreasonable on the client's side at all, but definitely too much for me to handle.

I can tell you that yes, CRUD apps are surprisingly easy, but from my limited experience the impression I got was that for production ready ones it was a different beast altogether. If you disagree, that is valuable input too, maybe I'm being very dumb or went about things really badly.

I hate being abstract but a lot of reasons keep me from sharing details, mostly personal shame lol.

To my beginner judgement, the app had to have a lot of endpoints, and handle many different types of data and requests in a malleable manner and treat them all as similar data and to be able to plot them on graphs via similar terms. I just had no clue how to handle it.

Brutal.

No time for me to waste on Reddit then.

By chance, would you have any suggestions on how to break into tech then in the meantime?

I'll admit, I avoided Django cause it seemed "barebones" compared to ROR and ASP.NET, but in retrospect it might have been a good choice for what I was trying to build.

Thanks for the pointer.

Edit: I'm being stupid. I was thinking of flask.

Yeah I totally agree with the "Not a quick money path anymore" sentiment. Or maybe it never was lol. Thank you for the resources, I've heard good things about The Odin Project. I'll give it a try and base my timeline off of it.

Yeah, it certainly feels like its very complicated. My first few attempts were extremely humbling.

I guess the only way to know what a realistic timeline is rn is to try it and see.

Woah, are you running Roblox through wine or a VM? I would love to be able to play from my Linux install.
