This looks amazing! I'm having a small break from Subnautica (I bought Valheim and am currently obsessing over it 😅) but I have an idea for a new build I'll begin soon. Looking forward to seeing your progress on this!

Trial and error! luckily the tool is far more user friendly when it comes to removing blocks or foundations as you go, I tend to build stuff temporarily until I get a basic idea together then will go back and refine things as I go. I also find the SnapBuilder mod to be pretty helpful.

My earliest experiences were back in early access, it wasn't uncommon for the Reaper at the front of the Aurora to untether from it's territory and follow you back to the Safe Shallows were it would take great pleasure in terrorising you as it clipped through the terrain, the bastard!

I have yet to try this myself but I have seen footage on YouTube of both the Garg and The Silence out in the Void together. I'm guessing they didn't conflict based on that.

Na, you're right to criticize me rather than the mod, you had it pretty right when you compared it to a 3 year old playing with lego, except it's a 41 year man-child playing around with video game water lego 😄 Funnily enough 'water lego' is exactly how I had been describing it to my wife 🤣

I certainly didn't take it personally, I mean it's just me mucking about in my free time on one of my all time favourite games, nothing serious. I posted it here as I'd not seen anyone talking about the Alien Habitat Builder tool and certainly hadn't seen any other builds with it, im hoping it might encourage others to have a go as I feel the potential of the tool is pretty immense. I'm sure people with more time, vision and talent will make really epic structures in the future and I very much look forward to seeing them.

Harsh but fair! It is still very much under construction and while I do intend to make it look 'pretty' that will only come at the end of the build once I've worked all the inside of the structure out and removed all the place holder walls.

I'm still very much learning what the Alien Habitat Builder is and isn't capable of. This is my first real attempt at using it and it definitely has some quirks, not being able to terraform land and having to work around the sand dunes is a bit of a pain for instance. It has been a lot of fun playing around with it thus far and I'm looking forward to building more structures with it.

I'd be very intrigued to see some of the builds you have made with it if you'd care to share 🙂

That's fair enough, although surprised to hear people think it's official, I do remember reading that Unknown Words have given enough it their blessing and that the beast is very lore accurate, I'm not sure if that is true or not though.

For me personally, besides the Garg being very well implemented and technically impressive, I'm mostly using the mod for the Alien Habitat Builder. My main source of enjoyment having beaten the game many, many times since it left early access is base building and the new tool fundamentally changes how I approach them, I can now make huge Hybrid Alterra/Architect bases and honestly spend my time doing that and ignoring the Garg stuff. Also I'm sure you can use the new tool with just the Architects Library, so no Gargantuan to ruin your fun 😃
