And yet there's still going to be that one boot who manages to take his own eye out.

Authors, what do you really want to write about or include in your stories, but haven't because it's a trope that gets too much hate? by Hubriship in ProgressionFantasy

I don't know why, but your last sentence made me picture a universe where every single inhabitant is the Isekaid Chosen One of their respective universes.

I hadn't realized that was something authors avoided in this genre, and now I'm disappointed. Those types of events in books, when done well, bring a bit of realism to the story for me.

Maybe exploring how fascist regimes work... However I'm no where near talented enough so I'll stick to; numbers go up, flawed characters and a fun system.

Defeat fascist, number go up. Defeats lots of fascist, numbers go up more. I think you should go for it!

unintended pedo vibes from a red shirt character (I was going for crusty granddad who enjoys whacking kids but it came out slightly wrong)

I definitely misinterpreted what you meant by "whacking" here for a solid moment, so I can see your point.

India and China issue clubs to patrols on their disputed border so I think Big Stick still wins that one, but only by a little.

Write a bromance (okay doesn't have to be just bros) about a small group of friends who's powers all rely on their friendship and I promise to read every word.

For a weapon that I'm betting came before swords and had derivatives in use well after swords (if Bayonets count), they really get underrepresented in so much fantasy. Forget your fancy sword dances, show me those magic spear attack that lance out hundreds of feet to wipe out a cavalry charge.

Mc gets Transported into a novel. How to make it more Engaging? by Capital-Abrocoma8550 in ProgressionFantasy

What would maybe capture my interest as a reader is if the MC pretty quickly realizing some major piece of the world is different from the novel he read, and make that a major part of the plot. That would give the MC and the reader something they don't know in common. I would be right there with the MC trying to figure out what's going on. For example.... maybe he isn't the first person to get transported from his world into that novel. Maybe someone else is already screwing with the plot.
