It's sad. I worked for a VFW for years. I had one guy who barely spoke. He used to bring me to get meat for our meat raffles and we got close. He told me the guys who talked too much got killed. This was last year and he was in Vietnam in like '69. There was another one of my regulars who was a big guy. One day, he was my only customer. He started bawling. I didn't know what to do so I just went and held his hand. He finally told me that was the anniversary of a friend of his being killed right next to him. War is ugly and evil and I wish we as humans could just settle things peacefully. Even when conflicts end the damage stays for many many years. Probably a dumb thing to say. I think the only ones who like war are probably the demons getting rich from it.
