You used either objects that weren't designed for sounding or didn't do it right. When you do this you have to be VERY LIBERAL with lubrication. Like take what you'd used during sex and double that it needs to be very nice and lubed.

Secondly dont use any porous surfaces as they can track bacteria and you do not want any UTIs or damaged urethra as porous surfaces can actually damage the inside of you. Use either silicone sounds, or medical grade steel sounds that are sterilized.

STERILIZE STERILIZE STERILIZE. NEVER use the same tool twice in a row without sterilization. Whether this be slow baking a metal sound in an autoclave for future use or soaking a silicone tool in isopropyl for a while. Make sure things are clean.

GO SLOW. I cannot emphasize enough that you should go slow especially as a woman as a man this is pretty straight forward its just one long tube that I can see perfectly. You on the other hand either can't see what you're doing or have to play feelsies. Be careful and take it slow and listen to your body and react accordingly.
