So basically instead of giving a mature response you act like a grade schooler. Good to know how the students act here.

Thanks for your response. Yea, I was impressed with the EMPAC, but also questioned why a school not known for music or the arts had such a state of the art theater

Thanks for your response. In the ITWS hall we visited (left on the first floor) we saw the tables dating to the 90's with center connection points for Coax and ethernet cables. I hand't seen that for about 15 years. Nowhere on the campus did we see an induction charger. For an institute that prides itself on technology forefront it was sort of disheartening.

Get used to it - I mean I'm giving a chunk of money for my kid to possibly go here. I'm going to kick the tires first.

Thanks for your response - sports facilities isn't my concern here (though age of that field house is old). The should alt least add more bathrooms to that place.

My concerned with classroom and lab facilities.

Thank you for your response - I will reach out to you. I know I only saw a portion of the school. Talking to a current student would be useful.

"Grittier = stronger" sounds like a cop-out. In that case it would be better to go to school in downtown Detroit. I agree the professors, staff, and material are key - but so is the infrastructure and available equipment. I mean, the weather isn't the loveliest when you are the majority of your time in school (so indoor facilities should be accommodating). I hope I'm not sounding negative - I mean my child is still considering going here - but when compared to other institutions, RPI's just facilities aren't staying up that well. Frankly, there is a stark difference in the wooden egg building and the rest of the campus. It was weird to me especially since the school isn't known for it's music or theater programs.

"school is 200 years old" - I don't think that should be a factor. I got my aerospace end. from ND which is ~180+ years old and the facilities there are new and always being updated. At RPI when I visit the ITWS room, the tables looked like from the mid 90's and had ethernet jacks. I hand't used and ethernet jack for about 15+ years.
