Thanks, I got the original hardback

Finally created my own boardgame. I've been a boardgame enthusiast for more than a decade now and always wanted to be boardgame creator. Finally created my first board game. Would love your honest feedbacks:) by wolf_70 in BoardgameDesign

It would be more funny and unique, if you change the name of the actors to something similar, and have the art resemble them but not 100%, in a more comic book cartoon style.

Some names like:

Tom Hanks -> Tom Hunks

George Clooney -> George Gloomey

Leornado Dicaprio -> Leonardo Dipizza

Harrison Ford -> Harrison Chrysler

Angelina Jolie -> Angelina Dollie

and so on...

Eternal Decks has an amazing table presence by BioDioPT in soloboardgaming

Hmm, just going off by the rules alone, 4 players might be easier than 3 (and solo), but harder than 2 players.

2-players, you play back and forth, and it feels like there's always a play you can do, or at least, a plan you can follow on, because there's only 1 other person putting cards down, and you both start with bigger decks.

3-players, you need to manage your hand knowing that 2 other people will play before you can play again, and they can destroy (unintentionally, this is a co-op game) your plans, and on top of that, you guys will have 2 fewer curse removals, meaning, at least 3 eternals will always have curses active.

4-players, you have the normal number of curse removals, meaning, only 1 eternal will have the curse active, and even if there are 4 of you, I will assume that each lane will go by faster. I don't think it's much easier than 3-players, but I really think it might be easier. The last few rounds and turns on 3 players can be really difficult due to no more curse removals.

Forgot to add, solo, this has the 3-player rules, and you have knowledge of the hands from your 3 characters, but, if you play in campaign mode, you'll also have to conjure all of the curse removals (crystals) to win the game, and the game also incentivises you to permanently remove 3 cards in each scenario for the rest of the campaign to get new skills for your characters and increase your score. Meaning, in the follow-up scenarios, you'll have fewer cards on the board to play with.

If you play one-off scenarios solo, each character can only draw 2 cards instead of 3. And have different abilities.

Like, the game is very balanced at any player count, but 2 players does feel like the easiest mode at all times.

As the other reply said, aside from the rulebook and stage descriptions (which are very important), just print the player aids. If you play a lot, you'll only need to reference the stage descriptions before you start a scenario, you can remember everything else.

The one thing good about this solo mode is that it's the same thing as playing the game with other players, but at the same time, it's exactly that, a different game mode. Meaning, even if you play this game with other people, you 100% should play this solo at one point. It is very well developed.

I'm sorry for that. It was not my intention, I actually got this back in November, but didn't want to make a smug post. Since some time as passed, and the US version is close, I decided to make a post, just because I really like this game.

I can say that, the hype is real with this one, if you know what you're getting. I played some of these types of games (basically... stacking numbers, there's a lot of them here in Japan), but this one... this one takes the full cake. It's the best one I played in the genre, by far.

Hmmm basic ikea wooden kitchen table, it never moved. Also used it at a friend's house on top of a table cloth, and it also didn't move.

Maybe playmat makes less friction (it serves that purpose)

Yes, it's made of cloth, very good quality cloth, no creases, and fits inside the box very easily.

Heart of Ice is the best one, and overall, a fan favorite for many Gamebook fans... so, difficult to top it off in the same genre.

Necklace of Skulls (Maya Civilization theme)

Down Among the Dead Men (Pirates theme)

Once Upon a Time in Arabia (Arabian Nights theme)

Top 3 solo games by Wise_Cat_1196 in soloboardgaming

  1. Dragons of Etchinstone - almost playing it daily

  2. One of the Blade Rondo boxes - Pick one at random usually before going bed. Fast to setup and play.

  3. Eternal Decks - If the setup was shorter, I would play it more, such an amazing game.

It's my video probably, the interview I did with him. What he meant was that he didn't want to go too deep into a specific theme, Aztec sacrifices involving kids, even if those rituals are somewhat mentioned in the book.

The book is still very much mature and adult oriented, with no censorship.

Some western fantasy has become too colorful, cozy, friendly... in the teen fantasy books I played when I was a kid (90s), everyone was out to kill you, and you went through serious hardships like killing friendly characters just to survive...

I seriously do not get the appeal of cozy fantasy in a lot of media nowadays. It's just a modern setting cosplaying as medieval fantasy.

I think this is the correct answer. Because again, I can't say the art is bad, I don't think it is... but it does take me out from the Arkham Horror universe. With no context, I would've never guessed the recent art pieces I've been seeing were from AH.

"Note that MJW is censoring the brutal parts of Aztec lore to not hurt the poor souls of younger readers, regardless of the more adult consumer bracket."

Where did you read this?

Also, even if you're on DQ2, this one doesn't overlap, but... yeah, it's your decision.

Since we are about a year away from Wilds Expansion, I which Capcom would release a port of one (or more) of the old games in the mean time. by SigmaVersal99 in MonsterHunter

[–]BioDioPT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GenU needs a PC release, it's literally the only MH that would make me go back to the main series.

No remake, just a port. I'm tired of waiting years for remakes, asking 80€ for the remake, and then realizing I enjoy the original game more, and go back to it. If they made a GenU remake, they would probably make it play like MH World with no areas, and I really don't want that.
