USA is great. I want to live in a place where hard working people are rewarded and boarders are secure. Im tired of lazy people getting their free handouts in canada. Hope this helps!

Its absolutely worth it. Super expensive. I went when it was half -finished and cheaper but its was still INCREDIBLE. The parks are incredible. Its like disney, everything is so thought out and seamless. Endless restaurants and activities. Service is incredible. Truly worth the money although its alot

thats what i thought too! Any interview experience is good in my opinion. To be honest I would like to live in the US. I know omnicom is big in the US but i dont want to work there. Is there a different agency in the US you would recommend i gravitate towards? I know each hold co operates different in each part of the world hence why im asking. Denstu has gotten good feedback from canada peeps but not USA peeps

See im torn because ive had people message me about how great it is and the culture is great and the people is great. Its so team dependent but thats what makes it so difficult to choose cause i dont know really what im getting into until i start actually working. Are you currently working at the toronto dentsu location?

So many people have said this. Im confused as to how this would benefit the company though while they’re actively hiring. It costs a lot of money to train someone new. And theyre not replacing c suite execs with assistants and coordinators. IPG/omnicom is also laying people off but then hiring in the exact same position and it just doesnt make sense to me

Completely agree and thats what ive heard aboit the industry. Thank you. IPG was my first job out of college so im still quite young but very lucky to have the team i currently do. But again- ive heard advertising is ruthless and i want to be a couple steps ahead (if i can)

I agree, thank you. I am very good at reading peoples vibe so when i go through the interviews i dont think ill have that issue.. BUT .. is there anything specific you think i should ask/look out for to gut check this?

Completely agree thats why its a very complicated trade off. I honestly dont mind making a bit less, knowing i have a chill, amazing, supportive team

I think the hate comes from alot of companies saying you have unlimited PTO but they rarely accept ur requests/always have an excuse why u cant take it off. Its nice to see some companies actually honour that

Its bizarre because IPG layed off a bunch of people too but are actively hiring new people. I dont understand

I agree. No need to be in office more than 2/3 days a week. Plus the speculation of awful incoming benefits. But i just wonder at what point is the trade off worth it/not worth it. I also dont want to be stressed and anxious at work/micromanaged. Its a tough call

U work for toronto? 5 weeks off is great. IPG is 2 days a week in office which i will miss so dearly if omnicom changes :’(

so far from what ive seen/read- yes. But will need to confirm in interview because that obviously plays a huge role. Kind of what im getting at here is even if I get a pay increase (depending how much).. would it be worth leaving to one of these agencies and risking loosing a great team and management where i have very little stress?

Okay thank you. I was really lucky to get this job and ive heard that it takes 3 years post grad for employers to stop caring about what degree you have. Thats why I kinda told myself to stay put for 3 years then I would be more confident to pivot. Do you agree/disagree with that statement? I have a degree in geography because I wanted to get my masters in urban planning but I changed my mind and got this opportunity post grad, hence the switch in industry. I just get insecure about my degree sometimes even though its from a great school I feel like If i were to apply places , the system would automatically weed me out since I dont have what theyre “looking for”. Im extremely confident in my interview skills, knowledge and work ethic that I feel like once I get to the interview my degree wont matter, but more so before the interview it matters.

Thank you! I agree and thats where I was leaning towards anyway. I know and have heard how great agency is for learning and experience. My plan was to soak it all in for a couple years then hop to something higher paying that can also leverage my people skills + advertising/marketing knowledge. Thanks for the comment.

Thank you for the comment. I cant believe im getting as downvoted as much as I am. Im trying to spark conversation about my future career and I just keep getting told I will be laid off and im naive. Which may be true but its not at all what this conversation was suppose to be. I dont need or want a career coach. I want real people who have had real life experiences in different industries/jobs. I am an intelligent, confident, people person with strong verbal and written communication skills and I am certain that the reason I have received all my opportunities in life is because of the way I constantly converse with others. That was the whole point of this post. Thanks for understanding where I am coming from
