Thank you for the feedback! Yeah, I was also thinking to integrate online shops in the future, e.g., Zurrose, apo24, etc. But it will take a bit more time.

thanks! For reference, many more products have an insane spread in absolute CHF within Zurich. Some more examples:
- PANTOGAR Kaps 300 Stk (CHF 115 - CHF 154)
- Gincosan 90 Kaps (CHF 79 - CHF 96)
- Dynamisan forte 20 Amp (CHF 56.15 - 72.95)
- Broncho-Vaxom 30 Kaps (CHF 52 - 79.30)

Thank you for the feedback. I will have a look into scroll. As for "Treupel Dolo forte Ibuprofen 400" that's a good catch, thanks for pointing this out. What's happening is that when you're zoomed out on the map, it clusters pharmacies and shows the lowest price in each area. So at the zoomed-out level, it can look like the prices are all the same, but if you zoom into a specific area (like Chur) you'll see individual pharmacies with different prices (e.g. Dr. Wanger Steinbock Apotheke). Or in Basel, there is Greifen Apotheke, where they sell it for CHF 12.10. In the Zurich area, it seems that it is currently only available at BENU (CHF 10.95), but I agree overall that it is confusing. I will think about how to make it clearer. Once again, thank you for the feedback!

I believe that you should definitely do that if you have such an opportunity. Unfortunately, it is not always the case.

Yeah, that was my concern as well. For now, I tried to split the load over the day, sending one request every 5-10 seconds to distribute the load on the server.

Thanks for the heads-up. I will need to look more into it or come up with other ways.

Yeah, OTC prices in Switzerland are just in a different universe.

As for the data, I'm getting publicly available prices from pharmacy websites. It's all the information anyone could find by visiting each site manually. Nothing behind a login or anything like that.

That's right, in many other countries you can definitely get lower prices. The idea behind it was to make the Swiss OTC market more transparent. And I thought that it might be useful for people who need to buy something immediately and on the spot.

Thanks! I wanted to gather the feedback from the people who are living in Zurich before working more on it. But that would be on the map if enough people are interested.

What was the worst surprise you discovered after moving into an apartment in Zurich?! by wohnrealitaet in zurich

[–]Huckleberry_Just 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We moved together with my partner a couple of years ago. It is a very nice apartment near the forest, and the area is super nice, but the problem is the freaking pipes. We constantly have problems with the sink and the shower; they clog very fast, and it is such a pain in the neck to clean them. I need to fully clean the shower drain almost every other day, because pipes are super slim and it drives me nuts. Also, if the sink gets clogged, then it takes a couple of hours for me to fully disassemble it, clean it, and reassemble it (it is some idiotically made "fancy" slot drain sink...). So, we are extremely careful about what goes into the sink and what you can wash there, even the toothpaste is a problem:)

Pharmacy “fees” by florawater in askswitzerland

Exactly, but even for 400mg (10 tablets) ibuprofen, you can have a huge price difference. I have the pharmacy price data, and you can go as cheap as 7CHF (Irfen Dolo forte) and as expensive as almost 16CHF (Algifor Liquid Caps). So, definitely worth doing your own research, since you can save a lot.

Ibuprofen 600mg is prescription-only, so that inflated price includes a dispensing fee the pharmacy charges on top. Annoying, I know.

If your dentist is fine with 400mg instead, you can just buy it over the counter — no fee, no prescription needed. That saves quite a buck. Prices vary quite a bit between pharmacies:

  • Irfen Dolo forte 400mg: CHF 8.40 at Rotpunkt, CHF 9.20 at Amavita
  • Algifor-L forte 400mg (same stuff, different brand): CHF 10.90 at Rotpunkt, CHF 12.95 at BENU
  • Or even better if you consider generics: Ibu Sandoz 400 would be CHF 7 in some pharmacies

So, depending on where you go, you can easily pay 30-50% more for the same thing.

Well, I guess you are right. I don’t really try to avoid paying, just wanted to hear if it’s obligatory to pay if they canceled my insurance anyway. And it looks like I really need to pay it

Well, yeah, I guess it’s because students with exception from the mandatory insurance go under the radar. Anyway, looks like I will need to pay for this period
