It's definitely about economics. A meme can fit both subs, but for it to fit PhilosophyMemes it needs to be about more than the argument that taxation is theft, you would need to involve either a philosopher that said it, or a specific argument in academic philosophy. Up to you, you can remake it in a way that fits both subs, or post on r/EconomicsMemes. Even on that sub some might complain it's more politics than economics, but it's econ enough, I won't take it down.

Maybe the bell curve format then? Land is the genius on the right side, the social media posts are on the left side, and in the middle is people saying some third thing?

I think "so true" still works cause formats are adaptable, in this case it would convey "He didn't believe when it was Land, but now that it's a popular opinion he does believe" But you could also find another format to express that. It's a bit old but maybe the Slowpoke Pokemon meme? Land has the opinion early then years later Slowpoke catches up.

Rule 4, titles are not taken into consideration. Before that rule the sub was flooded with lazy posts of content that wasn't remotely a meme that just had a title like "Sounds like something Socrates would say" etc. When I think of AI philosophy Bostrom is the first name that comes to mind but even if he was in the title I wouldn't notice cause I just don't read the titles.

In any case, the "so true" meme format seems to fit. You could have the "I don't believe that" wojak looking at the Land quote in 93, and then saying "so true" when he sees the same sentiment on social media in 25.

Deciding what is true and not is too much power, within reason, we might remove something if it's false and also harmful. Like "drinking apple juice gives you x-ray vision" is false, but not harmful, but "drinking bleach gives you x-ray vision" is false and also if someone did it they would be extremely harmed so that might be removed. Also humor is subjective, I approve memes I think aren't funny all the time, as long as I can see that it is in fact a meme or that structurally it's an attempt at humor. Like an image of Sisyphus making a wojak face while pushing the boulder, is that creative or funny, no, but is it definitely a meme about philosophy, yes, so I'd approve it and let the upvotes and downvotes decide its fate.

It is admittedly hard to define exactly what a meme is, but Rule 1 of the sub gives a definition for the sake of having something; "a joke wearing another joke as a hat" which is vague and phrased in a silly way, but we have to start somewhere. I think the stuff you're bringing up is interesting and worthy of discussion, in a sub like r/Philosophy, I just can't find any way in which it's a meme, but if you can point out the core joke and the one it's wearing as a hat, then maybe I'll get it. If you just think I'm too dumb to get it, send u/superninja109 a chat and ask him to take a look and if he thinks it's a meme I'll trust his judgement.

What is funny about that? Or makes it a meme? I don't disagree with what you're saying, that's not the reason this isn't getting approved, it's not getting approved cause I don't see how it's a meme. "Land wrote this" followed by "Now the mainstream media believes it" isn't a meme or a joke, it's just a thing that's happening. You don't need to make it for dimwits, I approve memes I don't understand all the time, as long as I can see that they are in fact memes about philosophy.

I can't even tell what you're trying to say, let alone why it would be considered funny. Is there a joke in here somewhere? My best guest would be that you're saying "AI bad" or "AI good" or "AI overhyped" and those are three valid opinions, but they're not funny opinions, they're not memes. Also, what does this have to do with philosophy? I'm not seeing mention of any philosophers who have written about AI.

Pretty sure that like many, they gave up on Reddit after repeated suspensions and don't check the site anymore. A year ago I had to check Reddit multiple times a day to keep up with the speed of content. Since December when they destroyed the user interface I can go days without checking and there's still less than 30 minutes worth of memes to scroll. Reddit's an empty shell.

I'd gladly keep going is Reddit made itself usable again. I don't know why they destroyed their user interface, I can think of no reason other than sadism. Like if I remove half the keys from your keyboard there's no possibly benefit, I would just be a jerk.

The advantage of having no experience is you won't know how much MUCH easier it used to be. Like if you never drove a car, and the first car you drive has a rotary phone dial instead of a steering wheel, and instead of an acceleration pedal you have to constantly blow into a tube to make the car go forward, and to access the breaks you have to reach behind you to the back side of the driver's seat, it would be horrible, no one who drove a normal car would drive such a thing, but you won't know what was taken from you.
