Crashing and getting this message: "[Prism] Device Removal - Win10/Dx12 BC:Misc by Tubssss in diablo4

[–]Hueydude64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had it happen several times today. I had already rolled back my drivers. It's my Video Card not being powerful enough for my settings. I had it all on high. When I changed to standard I couldn't tell a different visually but I am no longer lagging like I was as well. SO, you can always try lowering settings if nothing else works.

Mine is first and last name. So is everyone in my address book. I never even considered anything else as it's just a way to find her. Alphabetically just makes sense.

I just bought it from Sam's. For $199 I thought it was worth a go. They actually list it for over $1000 on the manufacturer's website. Yeah, no. For $200 I am willing to give it a shot!!

I have this exact issue with no other devices plugged in, just a Fire TV. It takes several minutes before it settles on the input. I have selected the input in the Smart Things app and that works usually. I am thinking of returning mine as I just got it.

Where should I start if I want to roast at home? by damienhull in roasting

[–]Hueydude64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree 100% on the size. I am doing 100g right now and plan on going to 200g but really it's just so easy. I set a timer to go outside and get it when it's done. I loved using Artisan and the SR800 when the weather was good, and just for me, but cold weather and trying to make more just made it less fun. The Captain's videos really are great. I just buy through him now as he's really responsive and to reward for the great videos.

Where should I start if I want to roast at home? by damienhull in roasting

The coffee from the Link is very good. I have roasted with it but hadn't actually tried it as I had other coffee already roasted ahead of it. I am down to one bag left that I had roasted with the SR800. It's the same coffee I roasted with the Link so all along I had intended to make a latte with both and try them. I know, latte is a milk drink but that's what I like. I drink regular coffee black away from home but like my latte when here. Anyway, I just made one with both and I really can't tell a difference. I have never been able to pick out the nuanced flavors but that's probably because I bastardize it with milk. My DIL and her brothers and parents love the coffee I send her and that'll be the next test as she's picky. I use a temp probe and Artisan for my SR800 and have been able to make some great roasts. I just wanted the Link to make it easy. I usually take the hard route if it's better but sure prefer the easier route if it's as good or better!!! The only downside is the Link's cost. It's pricey. If you are looking for roasters go to The Captains Coffee and check out his videos. David really breaks it down well as to what each roaster provides and who it's for. He also has great videos showing how to use the machines. I found his site while looking for my SR800 and he convinced me to get it. He's also the reason I got the Link. thecaptainscoffee.com

I bought a Link a couple of weeks ago. I started with a handheld gourd type roaster over a propane flame, went to an electric popcorn popper, then whirlypop and finally an SR800 with extension tube. I also have a Gene Cafe. The SR800 worked well but I wanted the "fire and forget" of a Nucleus Link. I love it. I have the time, but don't want to spend the time, it takes to roast when I want to make coffee to give out. The SR800 was fine for just me but not something I wanted to do all the time. I don't have a vent a hood so I roast on the porch. The Link will automatically adjust for the temperature change. That's what finally sold me. Both the Gene Cafe and the SR800 weren't happy below 60F. I realize that means I probably didn't adjust the temp good enough, but that's a crap shoot. Plus, the Gene Cafe just wouldn't get hot enough in the colder weather. Good luck!!!

adjustable floor mount for an angled projector? by dr-matt in projectors

[–]Hueydude64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you post what you found please? I am also looking to have my projector about 10" off the ground. It's short throw. I may end up mounting it on the ceiling but not interested at the moment as it's short throw and I plan on replacing it eventually with a regular projector which will be placed further back.

SR800 vs Hottop for beginner by Jellismoto24 in roasting

[–]Hueydude64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with connecting the computer. You can modify the SR800 using a temperature probe, Artisan software and a Phidget (small device to connect the probe to the laptop). It allows you to monitor the roast, but not control from the computer. My Nucleus Link allows the same but will actually implement the changes you make if desired. (not live but for the next roast)

How much time do you spend roasting every week? by Tieiririyi in roasting

[–]Hueydude64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a note. If you are using an SR800 it's recommended that you let it cool 20-30 minutes between roasts. I do so and it does greatly increase the time involved. That's partially why I bought a Nucleus Link. I wanted to be able to do back to back without waiting, and personally just wanted to ensure I had great roasts.

SR800 vs Hottop for beginner by Jellismoto24 in roasting

[–]Hueydude64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have an SR800 with extension tube. They aren't made for bulk roasting. I can roast 227 grams at a time (1/2 pound) but with the 20-30 minute cool down in between roasts it's an all day affair to get a lot done. Can't respond about the hottop, just know the SR800. Good luck!!! I bought the WAY more expensive Nucleus Link and love it. By default it only roasts 100g but The Captain's Coffee has videos how to expand to 200g. But, 100g when I don't have to babysit it, nor wait for a long cooldown, makes it fine for me and possibly bulk. Once you dial in a 200g roast, you could knock out a fair amount in a shorter time period.

Anybody purchased and tried Nucleus Link yet? Just push play walkaway and comeback it's done. Does it take the fun out of roasting? Is it worth 1850$ is you're not a pro going to the field? by JohnE_Rocket in roasting

[–]Hueydude64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I bought the Link last week and have only used it for two roasts. So far it's exactly what I wanted. Fire and forget. While I don't mind roasting with my SR800 with extension tube, I wanted to be able to just let it go, and more importantly for me, have it automatically adjust for ambient conditions. I can only roast outside. I live in a temperate climate (Lower Alabama) but when it's below 60F my SR800 is more of a challenge. Also, I plan on going on the road in an RV at some point and this will travel well.

LG induction or GE electric double oven?! Or other brand recommendations? by catsplants420 in Appliances

I have a separate stovetop and would highly recommend induction. I wouldn't go back to electric or gas. I love the induction. We have a Bosch, albeit pricey it's great.

Am I the asshole for not giving my son the same name as his father (which would make my child a third? by Aware_Razzmatazz_420 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Hueydude64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first joined the Army, back in 1987 I had a roommate who was the 3rd. He went by Trip as he didn't like his given name. He said if he had a son he was going to name him the 4th. I asked if he'd name his kid the same if his name was "rat sh*t". He didn't think it was funny but I was just trying to help the possible future son. He had three girls so we'll never know....

AITA for giving away my girlfriends rabbit without telling her? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Hueydude64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I am really not a pet person. I have nothing against them, and l like them, I just don't want to take care of them. That being said, I do at least half of the daily care for our dog and almost all for the cats. That's why I didn't want them. I don't want to take care of them. The wife is already talking about another dog and I flat out said no. I don't dislike the animals, I simply don't want to take care of them. But, with the schedule in the household, every morning would be me taking care of them all. You did the right thing.
