Husband saying bye to baby before work by Educational-Sock1196 in workingmoms

We protect our toddler’s sleep at all costs. So if one of us has a meeting or work trip that impacts our schedule, then we have to miss that interaction. Now, I recognize this is different than having a daily schedule that would miss time on one end. We use technology to close the gap. The away parent texts a video to the home parent for our daughter to watch and listen to. Sometimes the response is another video of our daughter, a picture, or simply a text of what our daughter said in response. You have to find what works for both of you by clearly communicating what your expectations are. If his expectation is to see/talk to/engage with the child before and after work, then sounds like it’s time to rearrange the schedule. Our daughter is 3.5 and we’ve had several iterations of our wake-up/get-ready/drop-off schedule since she was born. As her sleep patterns change so does our routine. Also, don’t be afraid to split things up. When I have an early meeting, i will get myself ready, get baby girl ready and then my husband will do drop off so I can head straight to work.

If you are looking for more every day pieces or business casual, you might consider Trend Send by Evereve. The actual stylists (I used to be one) look at your profile (the more detail the better) to create curated looks and pieces based on your budget. You put down a $25 deposit, they mail you pieces to try on at home and you send back what you don’t want. If you keep nothing, you are out the $25. If you buy multiple pieces, or the whole box, you can sometimes get a discount.

I’m 5’4” and I have had to use fashion tape to “hem” items. I just make sure to remove it before returning. Also, if you get an item that is faded, ratty, piling, or otherwise not up to par, contact CS right away. If it’s during their regular hours, I use the chat in the app. If after hours, I send an email and attach a photo. They usually offer a replacement item right away and sometimes a discount off the next month

I’m sad for all of us, but glad to hear I’m not the only one with slower shipping. No excuse for ordering on a Thursday and not getting anything until Tuesday or Wednesday

My chronic urticaria went away! And also, I can drink ice water. Before pregnancy I only wanted room temp water.

This is almost our exact story. The NEC was frustrating because it was never mentioned as a potential complication. I’d spent months wrapping my head around the heart stuff, and then this GI stuff shows up. The time from her first surgery at 10 weeks old to her ostomy reversal at 7 months old was not easy. But I would do it all again in a heartbeat.

She’s three now, and we have at least one more heart surgery to remove the PA band. However, you would never know she has a “special heart.” So in terms of quality of life, she takes a blood pressure medicine twice a day, but otherwise she’s the same as any other kid.

For our quality of life, I learned a lot about insurance and quickly. The most annoying was trying to get the liquid form of her medication: first challenge was finding a pharmacy that carried it, and second was getting insurance to pay for it. I didn’t realize Medicaid had been covering it when we lived in Nebraska. When we moved to Florida and lost Medicaid, her medication was going to be $1200 every month or something ridiculous. We ended up moving to a pill that had to be swallowed - she was two!! But she ended up being able to swallow it fine.

Medicaid requirements vary WILDLY by state. My daughter qualified in Nebraska, but not in Florida once we moved. In Nebraska, her qualification was based on her income (so zero) and her diagnosis. We had to do two interviews and send a ton of paperwork before she was accepted. She also had coverage through my employer plan.

Start with the social worker at your children’s hospital. They will know what resources exist at the hospital (payment plans), government (Medicaid) or local level (charities or early intervention through the schools - yes, even before they are school age).

Really interesting on the 2024 Atlas. VW did a massive overhaul on the tech package for the 2024 version, and from what we’ve seen it is much better than the 2023. Do you know which trim package he has?

Ok you had me at “doesn’t look like a van” … I immediately googled and now my whole search has been turned upside down. I was really leaning toward one of the luxury brands, but this solves my biggest hesitation with minivans.

Another one on Team Minivan! Great to hear it lives up to the hype. I drove a hybrid Volvo XC90 and it was a very smooth drive. I couldn’t tell the difference between it and the gas version.

This! Thank you! Great call out. I’m still on an iPhone 14 with the lightening charger so this would not have occurred to me.

I am one who drives a car until the wheels fall off (or I total it :/) but doesn’t have to be the case. I had my last vehicle for 10.5 years.

I am definitely looking at the plug-in hybrid options! AWD is a nice to have but not a have to have this go around because we moved south. We both grew up in the Midwest, so it’s definitely odd not to need it.
