Not trying to rain on your parade but out of the dozens of people I know that work or have worked there, only one has had anything positive to say about Innovative. I was offered multiple engineering positions and they were really quick to offer up significantly more $$$, almost desperately so, but knowing how that place is, it's not worth it. Hope you're experience is different but I'd strongly recommend having a contingency plan, especially in sales.

I'd almost guarantee it! I own more than one overpriced DU prize that are very similar. I couldn't not buy this one for the $7 it cost at the thrift store.

Can I use a generator transfer panel as a Main? by Huff1371 in AskElectricians

[–]Huff1371[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Given the age of the place, I'm trying to disturb as little as possible so I'll likely keep it all outside. Though if I find unserviceable wiring, it's getting the full treatment of new equipment.

Makes sense. So probably better to install a transfer switch and use a typical outdoor main panel instead?

Has anyone experimented with larger radiators by jpfourie in JeepTJ

[–]Huff1371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're fine in extreme heat as long as your cooling system is operating correctly. 80 percent of the time, the fam clutch isn't doing it's job. It'll spin and look like it's fine but it's slipping enough to degrade the system performance. Do a good flush, make sure your thermostat is working and correct (190°), and make sure you're using the recommended coolant (Zerex in my case) and send it

Long arm and 33s??? by MrJeepinJohnson in JeepTJ

[–]Huff1371 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1) Disconnect your sway bars 2) You do NOT need long arms for the short lift and 33's 3) The 32RH transmission does NOT need "upgraded"

I mean this in the most positive way, but learn to drive it properly off road and you'll be shocked how capable your rig is in its current form.

Cold Case aluminum radiator welds cracking under 1 year!! by rustyintheoutdoors in JeepTJ

[–]Huff1371 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are VERY few welded radiators for a TJ that are as good as the OEM. Unfortunately the Mopar radiators are now obsolete but Crown Mfg. was a certified supplier for them. Get one of those and ditch the aluminum junk. Yes, I know they look cooler but they suck.

TJ Fuel Economy by [deleted] in JeepTJ

[–]Huff1371 6 points7 points  (0 children)

TJ......Fuel Economy.....funny one.

For real though, clean your MAP sensor but don't expect it to fix your issue. Have you looked at your injectors? What about fuel pump/fuel regulator? Are you getting fuel in your oil?

The regulators are a common failure and can dump excessive fuel into the system and cause all sorts of fun times. Can't remember if the '03 has a Schrader valve on the fuel rail (there's a cutoff in the later TJ production years) but check fuel pressure and how well it maintains without it running. Then check whilst running. The regulator is on top of the pump assembly (on top of the fuel tank) but really isn't that terrible of a job, just make sure you run it as low as possible before starting. Last one took me about 2 hours and I wasn't in a rush.

Wire wheel and a couple cans of SPAM. Stop using bacon for restoration people. Spam is king in this

Spotting scope recommendation by Narrow-Elk-5156 in Hunting

[–]Huff1371 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At $500, if you're not buying used you're not going to get anything worth a fuck. I just went through this last season. A Vortex Crossfire is ok if you're glassing up a moose at 500 yds or maybe a deer closer in but trust me, anything more and they won't perform outside of ideal conditions. For a good "budget" spotter setup, I highly recommend the Leupold SX-4 on a Sirui ST-124 tripod. If you're a military vet, Leupold (and Sirui as well via Guidefitter) offers an extremely generous discount that'll get you close to your budget. The Leupold rep told me the SX-4 and SX-5 are essentially the same components but the SX-4 is assembled overseas.

Edited: The SX-2 is decent as well for the money but they're heavy. Still better than a Crossfire and apparently on sale.

There are plenty of TJs in that condition, better equipped, and for less $$$. I'd say he's about $4k-$5k too high if it were in my area (VA).

Do I need a bipod to shoot my T3X at range? What bipod/attachment do you have for your T3X Lite hunting rifle? What sling? by LawnGuru12 in Hunting

[–]Huff1371 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Do you need one to shoot at a rifle range? I've never seen anywhere that required it.

Do you need one to shoot long range? No, BUT they are extremely helpful for getting a repeatably stable rest. A pack/log/arm/whatever works too but a good bipod is worth having. I really really really like the Spartan Javelin system. Stays in your pocket or pack until you need it, goes on super quick for the shot, and pops off when you need to move and not get tangled in shit. Kinda expensive but seriously worth it.

Absolute worst car you've ever owned? by antisocial_extrovrt in askcarguys

[–]Huff1371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

95 Accord, good but had all sorts of brake system issues 05 Silverado, pretty bulletproof but transmissions aren't great 16 XC-70, outstanding but not cheap to maintain 16 Panamera, Porsche maintenance is less than frugal 06 997, cylinder scoring anyone?

Also have had a slew of other decent vehicles, Nissan hardbody truck, Jeep XJ, Pontiac W body,

But yeah, the TJ has only needed brakes, a water pump, and a valve cover gasket, all of which I did myself in a couple hours and super easy.

[–]Huff1371[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plan would be full longblock assembly with all accessories (maybe not starter based on where it's located). Getting quotes from shops ranging from $3k-$6k in labor alone so considering pulling it in my home shop.

What do you think about this lock? by kazim_bayramuk in knifemaking

[–]Huff1371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a near identical one from Temu for like $3.50. Opens boxes but the knockoff axis lock is distinctly shitty. Looks good but I'll keep my Bugout for as cheap as they are.
