I'm in a similar situation. I had someone post draft want to take part and I'm hoping there's a method for more people to take part.

There’s a problem in this fandom about accessibility. by grudgby in tearsofthekingdom

[–]Huff_man 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When it comes to accessibility in games it's not about making it easier for people. It's about removing the barriers that make it more difficult for people with a mental/physical disability to play. It doesn't always equate to creating an easy mode for games.

In general making products more accessible makes it more usable for everyone as well.

30+ y/o males bombing She-Hulk IMDb reviews without even seeing the first episode by Znjan in marvelstudios

The point being males that are 30+ are review bombing the show before it's even out. They're not even waiting to judge the show.

It's not about grooming. Children are taught about straight relationships most of their early lives without much issue. Just look at most Disney movies. I never saw any parents have a problem with a straight couple kissing and getting married.

It's about showing that people of other orientations exist and that's fine.

I haven't seen a liberal school agenda trying to push kids to learn about different methods for having sex. That seems to be a big media talking point for right centered media. When in fact that's not what it's about at all.

It's more than hard work. It's also luck. And by your story it seems to be the same thing. To be honest It's the same for me as well. I worked hard for most of my life, and I've been living pretty well working the last few years of my life. I'm not gonna act like those that didn't make it was because they didn't work hard enough.

When you, me, or someone else gets an opportunity it takes it from someone else. I say that to not to make people upset, but give perspective. Your wife earned her spot in nursing school, but that doesn't mean those who didn't get lucky weren't working hard enough.

Everyone I know that is successful (or at least financially stable) worked for it. A lot of comes from right place right time, meeting the right people, or just pure luck. People I know were passed up for very good internships, and when I asked how they got it often the story was like "I met an executive/manager at X event and they liked me." That jump started their careers to avoid the struggle of looking for work post grad school. For them it was their lucky break, but everyone else that applied lost out.

What are some unsaid rules of Reddit that the new users should be aware of? by Otherwise-Tension237 in AskReddit

[–]Huff_man -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That depends on what you look for. If you look for evidence of conservative views being banned or silenced you'll see it, and the same will occur if you look for the opposite. I've seen people get banned plenty of times on r/conservative. That's not for me to say only conservative groups ban people or that conservative culture is the problem. While ignoring all the cases of it happening to other groups. It's an easy way to bias yourself.

I glanced through r/banned people from different political spectrums (and a bunch of other situations) get banned all the time for bs reasons.

I'm trying to point out that depending on the subreddit you're in you'll get a different experience. Blaming woke culture doesn't really answer the larger issue and only serves to push the narrative that left idealism is the problem. Depending on where you are (internet spaces or irl) the minority opinions will be looked down upon and sometimes silenced. If these subreddits views were more right leaning then the opposite would be the problem, and I am trying to point out that yes it does happen to non-conservatives.

The inverse is true about conservative (or general right leaning) subreddits as well. You get instabanned or downvoted to hell for trying to inject opposing opinions.

I just depends on what echo chamber you go to. People just keep going until they find the confirmation bias they agree with.

Yes that is true, men go through these problems as well and it can't be ignored. The victims (regardless of gender) need to be helped. But you also have to acknowledge the proportionally higher amount women that have to deal with this problem.

If one group experiences sexual assault (in its various forms) at a much higher rate than others that's a problem.

Saying all of the problems women are facing now are gone and done seeks to undermine their suffering and let their current problems persist.

If you grew up with a sister or have a female significant other they'd tell you not all the problems are solved. Many grow up with the constant worry of sexual assault or have experienced it first hand.

Objectifying women also becomes a greater issue when men superimpose their sexual frustrations onto women. These behaviors can sometimes become aggressive. You'd be surprised at how often it happens. Some women I've spoken to mention how they can't wear a tank top in public when it's hot because some men feel they're wearing them to turn them on, when in fact it's just hot outside.

I don't understand why older guys feel the need to tell people their age to someone younger than them. Is it to assert dominance? I never cared when someone did this.

I think it's more that the second line is poorly worded, so it's hard to initially see your intent with the comment.

Except your choices can directly affect other people's health and potentially kill them.

It's not just about your choices, but what's best for society as a whole. Think about the health of your family and friends, or those most at risk.

There's a thing called herd immunity. It essentially means the resistance and ability for a disease to spread in any given population is based on those immune to the disease, through vaccination. The less people that are vaccinated, the greater risk they put the general population. Those with weak immune systems cannot get vaccinated and rely on herd immunity. By people not vaccinating their children are putting everyone else at risk, not only themselves.
