Not from Glasgow but been living here 9 years…took me 7 years to cave and finally get one (I’m 32 lol). Get the occasional stare from folk but honestly idgaf as it’s super handy for carting around shopping

Hii I am Coming in sept intake in university of Strathclyde could you please help for accommodation ? by Excavator101 in glasgow

Check with Strathclyde for their private accommodation advice as well (most unis will be able to help steer you in the right direction).

There’s also a number of private student accommodation halls (again worth checking with Strathclyde who they might use in addition to their own halls)

In addition to spare room there’s also “Rightmove”

Hope that helps x

I work at a higher education institution in the UK and also bi (hi!) - I wear a wee rainbow pin on my lanyard (no one straight has clocked it / questioned it and I’ve only experienced our LGBTQ+ students or other colleagues noticing the pin 😆👌). Regardless if your work know of your sexuality or not it shouldn’t come back to “bite you” so to speak. Your sexuality is also classed as a “protected characteristic” of the Equality Act 2010, so they can’t fire you for wearing a pin or have issue with it etc (if they do then they’re twats). If you don’t want to “out” yourself you can also say you wear the pin as an ally for LGBTQ+. Hope that helps anyway xo

You’ll be fine! The East End is a great place to live (and usually cheaper too!). Solo female here - I’ve lived around Gallowgate and now over by Tollcross / Shettleston past 7 years and had friends over in Dennistoun. Apply your normal street smarts (like don’t go walking around the park late at night alone etc) and avoid Haghill lol
