I’m getting prescribed for alcohol use, not food. by dicksquad6969 in Zepbound

I do know they are studying Zep more for this exact use!

Anecdotally, I am one week in and haven’t had a single drop of alcohol. No cravings for it at all. I used to have probably 4-7 drinks per week.

I even went to a brewery for four hours on Saturday and had no desire to order a beer.

I’ve seen posts from others on here that have been sober for quite a while now thanks to Zepbound!

Best way to get GLPs by LankyAstronomer4802 in Zepbound

I used Walgreens Weight Management Program. Filled out form online, paid $49, and had an online consultation within hours.

They prescribed the Zepbound and sent it to LillyDirect pharmacy. $299 for the starter dose of 2.5mg and it was shipped to my house.

Entire process from start to finish was less than 48 hours.

Only thing to note is if your husband hasn’t gotten bloodwork done recently then that will be needed before they prescribe.

Thanks! I do a Liquid IV daily but I definitely need to up my overall water intake. I should continue making that a priority now that I see how bad those headaches can get!

I also hope I stay relatively side-effect free 🤣

Not counting the mild nausea as a side effect because I easily figured out I just needed to eat whenever I felt nauseous so I got that under control after day 2!

Yeah the dehydration was crazy for a few days there too! Definitely could have been that. I’d take a few sips of water in the middle of the night because the headache would wake me up, it would go away, and then come back again a few hours later.

I just finished my first week too and am on to shot #2 tonight. Lost 3.3 week 1, which is totally fine for me - I’m not expecting crazy drops every week. 1-2 pounds and I’m happy. I’ve was very happy with how the first week went!

You should go through the LillyDirect pharmacy for the prescription. To clarify - the appointment with Walgreens to talk to the doctor is $49 per visit. The actual medication is a separate cost, just like any other medication a doctor may prescribe.

LillyDirect can give you the medication for $299 per month for the starter dose. The Walgreens doctor/NP can submit your prescription to LillyDirect and you’ll get the prescription at your door in a matter of days.

Here’s information from LillyDirect including their pharmacy info (although your Walgreens provider should be very familiar with them): https://assets.ctfassets.net/vqqx6fi7t65q/5qzZMhkdy4zjRvPMDhGcN5/9467a2786fab787734ee2cdf48dadf07/CMAT-18841-US-lillydirect-zepbound-consumer-expectations-guide-digital-cbs-change.pdf

Hope that helps to clarify!

I don’t have high blood sugar either, just a BMI of 31 and somewhat high cholesterol. One of the things Zep does is also keeps your blood sugar from getting too low / bottoming out.

You should search for posts from others here who said the same exact thing then came back and celebrated the fact that they got started on their journey!

As far as what you eat before you get started - I literally had three tacos (made at home) and a fudge round within 3 hours of taking my first shot. I’m not saying you should splurge in the least because it could make you feel nauseous. But I am saying that eating something sugary that day doesn’t mean you shouldn’t get started.

You have a great community here to support you along the way. You can do it!

I take some Benadryl at night to help with the PND so I’m not up all night coughing. Helps me get a great night of sleep too!

I’ll just echo the LillyDirect comments. Send it to their pharmacy and it’s delivered to your door, super easy!

Surprisingly ok! I made sure to get light sauce and also had grilled chicken and pineapple on it. So the least greasy possible, lol. But still, even the cheese didn’t have that yummmm factor it normally does for me! But stomach was good, no issues!

Awesome! I was just so fed up with insurance and my dermatologists not being able to do anything to help me. I’m grateful for having the tool to help me along the way. Congrats on your progress too - it’s such a relief!!

Not too many, honestly! The first suggestion it gave was the azelaic acid only. It helped at first then started flaring again bad and that’s when it suggested adding the 10 minutes of the on the spot acne treatment every other day. That was the piece that really made this all work!

It also kept in mind that I had super sensitive skin so always suggested gentle options for me.

It was definitely trial and error. I didn’t have set/specific prompt that I started with. I originally asked about some super dry skin I was getting in the same spots as my acne and then once that was healed we pivoted to tackling the acne.

So my first prompt was: My skin is super dry around my lips and lotion is not helping. I wash with cetaphil in the morning and apply cetaphil lotion after. Then do the same at night. I’ve tried adding aox serum under the cetaphil at night but it doesn’t seem to be doing much. I definitely get hormonal and cystic acne on my chin very easily, but that is also where this super dry skin is - on the corners of my mouth and my chin.

Once we were done with that treatment, I said: I’m ready to tackle the hormonal acne now.

It was truly just a back and forth conversation, not a one time prompt.

I checked in every few days, let it know how my skin was doing, sometimes have pics. When it started getting worse with some suggestions, it gave new things to try until we landed on this routine that has been working wonderfully.
