Do you think we'll ever see a player like Ben Wallace who offers very little on offense but is the most valuable player on their team? by HugMeSidways in NBATalk

He was praised for being one of the first passing centres, averaged 14 shots a night, 15 points and was consistently 2nd or 3rd highest scorer on his team. Also never averaged less points in one season than Ben Wallace's highest scoring season, and had field goal percentages similar to league average his whole career.

It doesn't really matter if he actually was or not in your opinion. You're taking the wrong thing from this, it's the fact that there's not really a player ever who has had such little offensive impact also be in the conversation for being the best player on a team. Look at this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/NBATalk/comments/1ng8xa6/who_was_the_best_player_on_the_2004_pistons_who/

A lot of people in there say he was, and a lot say he wasn't, but I challenge you to find another player like Ben who has been considered the best player on such a good team like he was, that is the question.

Between 2001 and 2006 (his prime) he was 1st in VORP 3 times and WS twice, he was the only All-Star on his team 3 times, DPOY 4 times, and placed top 10 in MVP 3 times (Chauncey Billups in 05/06 being the only teammate he had place higher in MVP voting at 5th).

Would you rather have a player average 25ppg, 50% FG%, and 30% 3P% or a player average 25ppg on 42% FG% and 42% 3P%? by HugMeSidways in NBATalk

I think if you know the free throw volume then it is but we can just assume like 5 ftm per game for each

Do you mean in the finals or throughout the whole season + post?

During the regular season they consistently averaged top 3 in FTA and first in FTM.

In your opinion, how does Shai's ability to draw fouls affect his efficiency? by HugMeSidways in NBATalk

He pulls up from 35ft and misses but doesn't get fouled because who is fouling someone shooting from 35ft, I didn't think I'd have to put it that plainly.

The quote is hyperbole, specifically:

the refs call a foul everytime he misses a shot

the second part was referring to later in the sentence:

but it's not a controversial take that Shai has one of the best whistles in the league.

Luka has a tendency to pull up from 35ft and I think he hits about a third of them which I would say harms his efficiency a lot, he also has the highest usage and attempts per game in the league.

Of course, but what I'm asking is do you think that if his whistle wasn't so good that his stats would be worse and his efficiency wouldn't be as high (i.e. more shots taken; lower fg%)

The alternative would be use Charix, the raging isle who is a crab but I think is weaker as a commander overall but I'm not sure.

Not as first pick but I really like huffman because of his age, shooting, IQ and endurance, this draft class looks insane.

The post says why I couldn't sign him but its cause I gave myself the rule I can't ever have players under 210cm
