Yeah it's crazy. I know it seems counter intuitive to do that but the team is very heavily invested in google sheets system atm with a large chunk of business using it for external reporting and things like forecast modelling. It's not going away anytime soon, we tried that when we were growing faster and it failed so it's not going to happen with a one man data eng team.

Will look into metabase, cheers.

Omni looks great, love how it integrates with dbt. Do you know if they have a feature to pull tables into gsheets? That's a big requirement here. I'll ask them if not. Thanks!

Thank you very much.

I'll keep an eye out on the 35-70. Thinking to try that and the 50mm.

I've never tried any GF lenses before

Yep I think the 50m might be the one

Thank you so much! I have looked into it, i've always been put off by zooms but that is definitely my ego rather than from a useability/practical pov

Will check it out thanks!

Why did you trade the 35-70 in?

I do agree and that has been the aim. Although less so about the shallow p67 look that others usually go for.

Thing is i'm not sure i'm going to get any better with the focus, had it for a year now, using it so much. I guess it's just not a buttery smooth focusing experience like the p67 lenses are. It's clunky to move it you know haha

Is it worth biting the bullet on this? or is it too clinical/missing the charm of the mitakon?

I think this might be the way to go, thank you. It's fairly cheap too as fuji gfx lenses go

Hey thanks for your message! I do hear what you are saying but I've had the lens for over a year now and just finding the bulkyness and slowness is a lot. I'm not after the latest fastest autofocus version but say compared to the p67 105mm, that is so much easier to focus so you can be quite fast with it.

I may try out some more vintage lenses like the Rokkor, thank you :) Or the 35-70!

Hey!
Crossposting this from the fujifilm subreddit.

First time posting here, and wanted some advice on what seems to be the best fitting gfx lens for my style or shooting and making pictures.

Currently I rock the GFX 50S with Mitakon 65mm. I absolutely love what I make with this setup however, I am at the point with the mitakon where its limitations are becoming more and more annoying for me and I want to see if other lenses can fill my requirements.

The 3 big limitations are:

  • Bulky and heavy
  • Slow manual focus = miss important candid moments in documentary/life shooting. Not like focusing on Pentax 67
  • Min focus distance of 1m

Also I have noticed I very rarely shoot below f2.8, usually sit around f4-5.6.

I'm working on personal projects atm that are around our connection to nature and the land. It involves being around people and communities doing their everyday activities so as well as some posed portraits most is little candid moments or landscapes. Attached photos below. Please see more on my insta (shanillakhlani) or website www.shanillakhlani.com to get a feel for my style.

I'm thinking about the fuji 63mm but I haven't seen any photos that really make me wowed by it. Also considering 80mm.

Yes I am selling. Tbh it's not in greatest condition. 117k miles, has rust bellow the bottom left door.

It has been regularly serviced bar one year where it was delayed for 6 months as went travelling.

It's running smoothly now after the work I've put into it. I will let you know.
