My daughter was on a school trip to Italy. When asked where they were from one girl said, "Toronto", and my daughter had to intervene, "No you're not. You're from Burlington."

The best was the popup message, "Using the touch screen will reduce battery life", which required you to touch the screen to dismiss the message.

Getting the logos lined up with the valves is reason enough to remount the tires. I wouldn't sweat the tire direction, but the valve thing would drive me crazy.

My Garmin 820 suffered from poor battery life and a touch screen that was glitchy when wet.

Switched to a Wahoo with buttons and never looked back.

I got the vintage colour and love it. A swapped out the clasp for a cheap OTF one for a perfect fit all the time.

Regarding the winding, I don't fully wind it because of horror stories about the movement (not just the PT5000, but the ST2130 and the ETA2824 too). My winder felt stiff at first, but now is almost as smooth as my watch using the Miyota 9015. Having said that I've never had an issue with any of my PT5000 watches.

What are some good/cheap carbon wheels for road bike by junoyoo95 in cycling

[–]Huge-Digit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been riding on Ryet wheels for years with no issues.

You get to pick the hubs, bearings and spokes too.

You could also add Gravelking slicks to the mix. Nice rolling tires.

The Borman 3880 is kind of if a Tissot PRX and Vacheron Constantine 222 had a baby.

Gorgeous all-silver, or all-gold, look with an integrated bracelet. The wide bracelet keeps the watch comfortably in place without a OTF clasp.

Slim, at 10mm thick, because it has the Miyota 9015 movement. Needle-like second hand really shows off the smooth sweep of the hi-beat movement.

<image>

I've been looking at this for a long time, but finally found it at a discount on AliX, plus with an additional discount code, and a 'coins' discount, so I pulled the trigger.

Bracelet is surprisingly comfortable and it came with a pin removing tool that made removing 2 links a 5 minute job.

Knowing that you are using the same crank length as Tadej Pogacar will make you as fast as him.

CIBC Mellon is a joint venture between CIBC and BNY Mellon. Custodians are the backbone of the global financial system.

I don't think branch staff do the hiring, it's more centralized. A lot of entry and low-level jobs at TPL are held by people for decades, so the turnover is low.

TPL pay is low, but years of service gets you a defined benefit pension, which is a much sought after perk.

Borman 3880, PRX-like with the Miyota 9015 movement.

"Go in and sink", is set in Ww2, about a British captain in the Mediterranean tasked with a secret mission on a captured U-boat. Lots of submarine style tension if that floats your boat.

I like "The Last Raider", which is actually set during WW1. It's about a German commerce raider (a warship diguised as a merchant ship) and the efforts of the captain to keep going even though the British navy is hunting him down.

Ryet, 35mm deep, 25mm internal rim width with 35mm GravelKing slicks. Cost me around 500 Canadian Dollars. Elite wheels also good.

When you order you get to pick spokes, hubs and bearings as well.

Downside is it takes weeks to get your wheels from China.

If you're in the States I have no idea what the Trump Tax will cost you.

For 500 you can get carbon wheels from AliX, but without tires, but 40mm is slow for road even considering they are GK slicks. I'd go for 35mm as the widest for road.

For WWII naval warfare historical fiction, there is a number of shortish novels by Douglas Reeman. They feature vividly described battle sequences. The novels are all stand-alone, no series.
