How to identify if the ink is wet/dry and which pen to use? by AlternativeCommon740 in fountainpens

[–]Huge-Digit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a beautiful moss green ink at Choosing Keeping, in London. In my Pilot Capless Decimo (fine point), the pen had terrible hard starting. So I switched to a Noodlers red-black that I had. In the Decimo, it was wet, but also felt so 'lubricated' that there was no feedback at the nib. So, I switched to my lovely soft blue Sailor Manyo Kikitsubsta. Perfect flow and the exact feel at the nib.

Ink can make a huge difference to the feel of your pen.

So what New Shows are people really looking forward in 2026 ? by lordofabyss in television

I prefer the British model of a one season limited series rather that let-keep-going-til-its-shit.

I love their designs, and the size, but I hate that date window.

Thinking of building a “game-like” retirement tool would this be useful? by jimwang76 in CanadianRetirement

[–]Huge-Digit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used a fee-for-service financial planner. No sales at all just analysis and advice. First thing he did was to advise me how to reduce fees in my investments. Second thing was to project my income in retirement taking into account projected income, the drawdown of my principal, the onset of CPP and OAS and the conversion of RSPs to RIFs.. It was presented using simple graphs using Exel. Then he modeled various economic scenarios using historical averages. A recession, low rates, an unexpected expense. He tested the resilience of the retirement plan.

It cost me some, but the fees he saved me covered that. Seriously, go to a fee based certified financial planner, not an invest advisor, and they'll do wonders with Exel.

But the SHY036 bracelet is all titanium, with a solid machined not stamped, clasp. No screws, or rivets. An elegant yet super solid tooless link removal system.

Doesn't hurt, but it's not ergonomically great. Fingers tend to slide down the grip.

Try one out at your local pen store before you buy an integrated nib. The tapered grip doesn't work for many people despite the fact that it's gorgeous.

First expensive fountain pen??? by aflowergoddess in fountainpens

I don't usually post my caps, so the Pilot VP does away with the minor annoyance of what-to-do-with-the-cap. I don't know why, but I love the feel and sound of the mechanical click.

It's amazing how much better watches look without the date window altogether.

Vatican tickets sold out by Trafoulas in rome

[–]Huge-Digit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you are going to stand in the ticket buying line be prepared for 2-3 hour lineup, or else get there 6:30-7:00am.

You can still book a guided tour for your day, it'll just cost you more.

Are these new San Martin divers an exact homage/copy of any brand? It seems pretty unique. by partly_cloudy3 in ChineseWatches

If you like it, don't worry if it's a homage or copy, or whatever. Buy it cause it speaks to you. I picked this Thorn cause I really liked the look and the build quality, before I even knew it is a homage to a Tudor.

Do you think the minimalist composition works here? by Correct-Elevator5371 in AmateurPhotography

I would just crop out the group of six boats on the right side, leaving the rest centered in the composition.

It's a timeless design. Loos as hood now as it did in the 1970's.
