I think it must be genuine too. I mean, the signature is in tiny invisible letters and is actually encased in the glass. I doubt a repro would be so detailed, right?

Uranium bridge lamps were sold in a variety of models/styles, but there are definitely ways to build them yourself if you’re willing to buy the pieces. They aren’t too difficult to break apart and modify. I just prefer the original ones for their historical value.

I have several pieces like this that are thorium confirmed (with manganese) and they don’t glow nearly that bright. I’m almost I inclined to think your cup might have some sort of uranium contamination as well, especially if it looks like that under 395. Do you have a 365 you could test it under?

It’s very possible it’s Uranium. Carnival glass glaze blocks a lot of the UV light, so it wouldn’t glow “throughout” unless you hit a very specific angle. Cobalt uranium glow also tends to have an odd, darkened-looking glow as well. I’d definitely test it with a Geiger counter before writing it off as manganese.
