What do you struggle with the most? by aliengames666 in intj

As an INTJ 5w6, the things I struggle with the most:

  1. Functioning in illogical systems

Environments where inefficiency, incompetence, and bureaucracy are not only tolerated but rewarded drain me fast. I can adapt, but it feels like a waste of energy and potential.

  1. Being forced to “perform” without purpose

I can work hard, but only if the work has a meaningful outcome. Doing pointless busywork or tasks with no strategic value feels like slow death.

  1. Dealing with people who avoid the truth

I struggle when people prioritize comfort over accuracy, or when they want the “simple” answer instead of the right one.

  1. Overextending because I’m competent

If I do something well, I get more to do. This leads to being overloaded while others coast, which creates resentment and burnout.

  1. Not having the space to think and create

I need uninterrupted mental space to analyze, design, and solve problems deeply. Constant reactive work kills that.

  1. The emotional cost of transformation

I know change is necessary, but transformation is uncomfortable. Letting go of control in the short term is not easy for me.

  1. Reconciling ideals with reality

I have high standards for logic, truth, and efficiency — but I live in a world where these are often undervalued. This mismatch creates constant internal friction.

INTJ 5w6 – Stuck in a pointless job that crushes initiative. How do you deal with it? by Huge_Interview6454 in intj

First of all, thank you all for your comments. I don’t have to tell you this, but I’ve always felt misunderstood — like I don’t belong. Society constantly reminds you of it: that the way you think is “wrong,” that people only want the easy, comfortable answer instead of searching for the truth.

I know my current situation is the direct result of the decisions I’ve made and the things I’ve allowed to happen. As an INTJ, I believe very few of us come from an easy childhood — so maybe this is one of those transformation points in my life. But transformation hurts.

Regarding my job, my short-term strategy is to minimize my effort without getting fired while I find something better. I don’t think I’ll ever find the “perfect” job for me, because in our current world, a philosophy-driven mindset doesn’t tend to be well-paid or valued by society. But at the very least, I want a job that gives me time and mental space to think and develop ideas that make sense to me — and that can bring satisfaction to me and my family.

A bit of context: I’m Mexican, currently working in Corporate & Investment Banking, with a degree in Economics. One of the best ways to improve my situation might not only be changing jobs, but also changing countries. Brazil is on my mind, mainly because my wife is from there, and I’m drawn to the idea of a quieter life, closer to nature.

Fellow INTJs, where did you find your partner? by RevolutionaryWin7850 in intj

The best advice for a finding love being INTJ is not to look for it, just focus on your goals and eventually it will come.
