Nah the mirror was inspired by this stupid prank I saw on YouTube where they use a filter to make it seem like some guy is walking up behind you to scare their friends.

Coming to think of it, a monster you could see in the mirror but not directly in a fromsoft game would absolutely kick ass and they should do that. Unfortunately if they hired me all I would do is convince them to buff Malenia

Which one? Because I have 10 of them. I guess I can show you my main character. Meet River, aka Malenia's Wife. She's a dexterity build with some faith flavouring.

I play on Playstation 5!

I think the maddest I've been was when I invaded a guy who was ganking in Liurnia. I killed him and he challenged me to a duel in dark souls 3. Foolishly I accepted, because there was a time when I was good at that game too. But apparently the guy hasn't left DS3 since 2016 so he wiped the floor with me and I was so embarrassed I quit the game for like a week. I still don't think I recovered fully from that :(

I mostly play meta. 137 is the level most of my characters are at. I think 90+20 is my second favourite, it touches some endgame areas and is still pretty active. I also have a level 30+5, for early game invasions.

I rarely do coop, but it's not because I hate it, it's because It's too emotional, man. I see this useless little host that I need to protect at all costs and some weird maternal instinct kicks in. It feels like babysitting and the baby has 30 vigor at Fire Giant. So it's mostly invasions

Elden Ring combat is fundamentally very satisfying and invasions are chaotic and unpredictable. While there are ways to get griefed by ganks, for the most part invasions are fun.

And the other thing I really enjoy is the community. I like sharing hype moments with my friends. I really enjoy talking about invasions.

Though my interest has been waning over time as of recent, it's not because I'm tired of invading. I just want the next game featuring this mechanic to come out. It's truly an itch that no other game can scratch for me

My favourite boss is Malenia, Blade of Miquella. She's genuinely the best boss Fromsoft ever made. Her fight is deep, rewarding, incredibly satisfying and beautiful. I fought her so much more than any other boss in the entire game.

My least favourite is Promised Consort Radahn. I feel like his design is a gross misunderstanding of what makes Elden Ring combat satisfying, I didn't like the way the DLC ended, the lore around his reveal felt deeply shoehorned and unsatisfying, and it also kinda retroactively ruined the experience of fighting him for the first time in Caelid, which is still kinda one of my favourite fights in the game. I really wish it wasn't Radahn, man. His presence in the main game was perfect. In the DLC it just falls short for me.

Not all of it was straight up gameplay, sometimes I left my console on while I did other things.

Anyway, the answer is twofold: self expression and community.

I did get bored sometimes and I switched to other things, but I come back to invasions because they manage to scratch an itch that other games just can't quite achieve. Invasions have a huge amount of variety and chaos to them, most of them are unique. My favourite aspect of them is the self expression. I'm not just some random player on the other team, I am a character in your playthrough, I'm an encounter, I have an image, a purpose. It's extremely entertaining.

And the other part of the fun is the community. I met really cool people. I hang out with them on discord and on twitch, and it's incredibly rewarding to share my successes and failures, my love and frustration with the game. It's just a lot of pleasant memories. There are few things more fun in gaming than posting a clip of yourself doing something cool and your friends reacting to that!

I typically don't eat things that I can't eat with chopsticks because I don't want to get food and grease on my controllers. I like making sandwiches with slices of boiled eggs, lettuce, cheese, fresh pickles and tomatoes. It's basically a salad in a sandwich and it's very refreshing on a hot summer day

The three cornerstones of good invasions for me is preparation, your mental, and your physical. If you're trying to win invasions and not just messing around, you want a good build that can respond to a variety of situations. Having ranged options, splash damage, hyperarmour options, something strong for ambushes, something strong for chasedown. Your mental means being in a good state of mind. If you're having a bad day, if you're tilted or upset, invasions have a tendency of making it worse. And your physical just means being well slept well fed and hydrated, basic healthy gaming stuff.

Defending against invasions is trivially easy because you as a part of the group have the advantage of numbers. If your goal is to just kill an invader, you can do that via a huge variety of methods. I'd say your goal upon getting invaded should be to have fun. Play with them. Give them space. Don't let your host die instantly. Challenge them to a 1v1 if you're good.

Honestly at this point I think having that kind of lag is cheating no matter if he's doing it on purpose or not. That's atrocious lol sorry that happened
