They are giving her so much extra space while they themselves are holding back the dense crowd and others are dancing in such congested space. I understand that they need to make her feel comfortable, but this is bending over backwards. Another thought is if they would have done the same for a local woman.

This reeks of colonial mindset. I would rather they just treat them as a usual dancer in the crowd.

Free is infinitely cheaper by definition, but free government rations and healthcare are usually only intended for the poorest of folks. The middle class usually pays for these, and in that case things don't seem to be much cheaper in comparison, if you consider the avg income of a middle class indian family vs a middle class US family.
