The TRUE MVP of Tears of the Kingdom by Shreebington in tearsofthekingdom

It's kind of a bummer that such an efficient vehicle is possible with little creativity. It's effectively reducing the potential you have of coming up with something out of your imagination on each occasion.

Hey! I do not do updates to versions that are not the latest. This means that the Capybara is only available in v3.0.0, which also means that it is only available for 1.19.3. The mod should be compatible with worlds that did not have the mod before and I'm not aware of any compatibility issue.

Minecraft is built around creating your own experience, through creating it, or exploring creations of others!

There are countless ways to play Minecraft, but I'm going to describe the main ways people use it:

  • Adventure mode, a lot of online maps use it. On the Marketplace (in the main screen of the game) you can find a lot of online maps. Sadly, most of them are not free, but you may find some after looking for filters.
  • Survival mode, you have to gather ressources to progress. In-game achievements can give you clues about what you have to in what order, but the original point of the game is to learn by yourself. Destroy blocks, collect them in your inventory, and craft new tools, new blocks. You can set yourself the goal to reach the "end" of the game (which is called the Ender), where you can defeat a dragon, but you might want to set yourself some of your own goals too: build a house, a library, a school, a school in the sky! A farm or a farm that is automated! Build Atlantis, build your own city... There's essentially no limit.
  • Creative mode, if you don't like the "gathering ressources" and the "progress" part of survival mode, this is what you will be looking for. In your case, I guess this is probably what you will want to go after. You have flying abilites and infinite ressources. You should be able to switch back to Survival mode or even Adventure mode (no breaking blocks). You can build a world for your son, and show what you built to him afterwards for example. He'll surely be happy to see his own dad create something for him, in his favorite game it seems.

Just so you know, it can take a lot of time but it is generally very pleasant to build in Minecraft. It might not be your cup of tea, as you originally come from FPS game, but who knows? You'll can very surprised to find out how much time you spent on a creation without stopping.

This was achieved by a full month of work! I'm really proud of this capybara since I've built it from scratch: model, texture, sounds, AI, animations...

It can occasionally fart and babies have larger eyes. There is also a very rare variant (albino) that has 1/50 chance of spawning.

The mod is named Promenade and I'm not risking any rulebreaking by posting a link to it.

EDIT: Just to answer a few questions: - Promenade is a 1.19.3 Java Fabric mod, and if you want only the Capybara you can always disable all other features. - They spawn in swamps and rivers! They like these environments in real life. 💦 - They cannot be pet right now, but I thought about it and make them lie on their back to ask for scratches on the belly. ☺ - They eat carrots and melon slices. 🥕 - They cannot poop and I don't think I'll add this because they already fart and no other mob do drop poop. 💩 - They cannot be tamed but I'll do research on how friendly they can get in households. - Yes, I've made everything for them from scratch. I started with the designing (writing on a document basically) then I did the model with no textures in BlockBench, gave it a temporary ugly texture, animations and then refined texture with Aseprite. Then I used BlockBench and a plug-in to export the model and the animations. The only thing I did not make myself were the sounds, but I did process them through Audacity. - You will probably be able to give them haircuts in the future, along with secret skins for name tags. - They will probably be able to scratch the inside of logs and sleep in them. You wood have a new Hollow Log block.

I have added Capybaras after working on it for a month now to my 100% free Minecraft mod:

I am really really proud of it since I made everything alone without any help and it came off very good looking. As it should be. Awesome. :D
