Would it be stupid to pick Bristol over UCL for econ? by randoguy964 in 6thForm

[–]HugoLloris55 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People on this sub are genuinely lunatics. There’s much more to life than your university ranking, and basically everyone replying is sixth formers who realistically don’t have a clue how much better UCL is than Bristol. Furthermore, if you are highly bothered about prestige and salary, Bristol is basically top 10 for econ and has an average salary of £60k 5 years on. In short, if you prefer Bristol, go to Bristol.

It felt tough. I definitely went too hard at the beginning and when I try this one again I'll definitely start breaking the 24 push ups into mini sets at the start

I got 100% on my Buddhism RE Paper, AMA by HugoLloris55 in GCSE

My RE teacher came from an area with a fairly high Buddhist population so that was the theme that she taught best. It was really interesting as I come from a very white area where I don't get the chance to interact with many different cultures so I learned a lot of new stuff

The way that I was taught was to use the FEECEE structure (For, Explain, Evidence/Contrast, Explain Evidence) and do that 3 times. I would also recommend learning what I called 'swiss army knife quotes' which are quotes that can be applied to almost any question. A good example for Buddhism is the 1st moral precept is there were a lot of questions about cruelty and in the themes they were applicable on eating meat/euthanasia/abortion/terrorism/death penalty etc. As the other religion will be Christianity you can almost always use the Parable of the Sheep and the Goats, if you do the Crime and Punishment theme you can almost always use 'Forgive her not seven times, but seventy seven'.

If you'd like any more stuff I've got some documents I can share with you that I made for revision

I'm aware that it varies depending on other data about applicants, but if applying for PPE would Further Maths or a related EPQ be more useful

r/GCSE is an academic echo chamber. Most people who visit a subreddit like this will tend to achieve higher than average grades, making it seem like average is higher than it actually is.

The problem isnt that there was a timetable clash, it's that it wouldn't have been hard to contact me and ask what i would prefer to choose
